**LONG POST ALERT**

☘️"From this view"⚾️

This photo represents more than just a baseball field at night. Many people look at this field and see a covered pitchers mound and home plate area, with nothing happening. No players, no vendors, no fans. What you cannot see is the memories, the smiles, the relationships built, the frustrations, the arguments, the players, fans, and parents that make this place come to life.

As the Reidsville Luckies close the season, we have seen all that and more from this view. The countless hours spent researching players, teams, schools, and preparing for what was to come, and reacting to what was happening right in front of us. With this view we watched a baseball game, but what we could not prepare for was what was happening right under our noses. Players were getting to know other players from different areas, players were staying in a strangers home, Players were making an impact on the youth that came to the game, building lasting relationships, memories were certainly made and all made possible because everyone shares "the love of the game".

From this view, I have witnessed a 9 year old take batting practice with the team before the game, being treated just like any other player on his field by Coach Chenzo, no special treatment. This view has also seen dozens of kids running the bases, and receiving autographs from their favorite players. This view has witnessed adults with "Special Needs" the opportunity to go on the field, run the bases and throw out the first pitch.

From this view, we have seen defeat, and walk-off home runs. This view has also provided the "Best seat in the house"

For many, this may seem just like any other view of a baseball field they have ever had, but to us, this view contains so much more.

On behalf of the Reidsville Luckies, I would like to say thank you to three different "teams"

Team 1: The players, families, host families. THANK YOU for showing up and allowing us the pleasure to watch you play. We had the pleasure of speaking with you, getting to know you, and discussing more than just the game with you. Host families, we COULD NOT do this without you. Your willingness to open your home to a stranger and provide housing. The late night arrivals, coming and going, there is truly something special about each and every one of you, THANK YOU

Team 2 Staff: Guys, it could not be more my honor to work along side of you every game. We battled, high-fived, and all hung our head in defeat this summer, but in the end, this team of people were the best! Fans were greeted by EVERY.GAME and upon entering greeted at concessions by Lucas Jones and Jacob Jackson, two of the nicest and most respectable kids anyone could work alongside. In the "box" Joe Dexter, J. "The Kid" Ramey, and Eric "Santa" Smith-->>YOU GUYS ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT learning from Joe. Again, this could not be possible without you guys!! Heck!, we even got our own recap in print form the "Luckies Ledger" our of it.
