The collaboration between Ron King and Paul Brown has proved to be a winning combination. Ron's last album Cascade featured nine spectacular songs that the Smooth Jazz audience embraced wholeheartedly.

"Mosaic" is an uplifting song showcasing Ron's dazzling flugelhorn playing. "Mosaic" is light and introspective, heartfelt and moving. It is a perfect song to usher-in the original tunes that will follow on this same-titled album.

Originally from Baltimore, Keith began playing guitar at 10 years old and as teenager moved with his family to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he was exposed to the rich and diverse SF music scene. His musical passions eventually led him to Los Angeles, where he had the opportunity to study with some of the world’s greatest jazz and contemporary guitarists, including Robben Ford, Joe Pass, Buzz Fieten, Scott Henderson and Joe Diorio.

While attending college in Los Angeles, Keith was a featured soloist with the Chaffey College Jazz Ensemble, earning several awards for outstanding musicianship from the National Association of Jazz Educators. He later went on to attend the world-renowned Guitar Institute of Technology. Graduating at the top of his class, he subsequently joined the faculty as a staff instructor. Shortly after graduating from the Guitar Institute, Keith teamed with keyboardist and composer Morris Beeks, with whom he formed the jazz/R&B band Himalaya. The Himalaya sound was soon defined by Keith's unique compositions, which made them one of the most popular and dynamic groups on the L.A. circuit. Himalaya’s debut album Friend to Friend received national airplay. Shortly thereafter, they embarked on a nationwide tour with notable appearances at the Santa Barbara Jazz Festival as well as major nightclubs and venues in New York, Washington D.C., Memphis and San Diego.

Since moving back to the Bay Area, Keith’s style has gravitated towards world jazz fusion. His taste for world music was also inspired by performing at some of the top bay area venues with the popular South African band Zulu Spear. It was with that band the he teamed up with two great musicians from Austin Texas, multi-instrumentalists and producers, Cecil (P-Nut) Daniels and Carlton Lowe, who have been at the core of many of Keith's SF based recording and live performance projects. They have also formed the popular groups Sound Minds and P-Nut and The Apocalypse.

Isaac Edwards graduated from North Central University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (Saxophone). He went on to receive a Master's Degree in Music (Jazz Studies) from California State University Long Beach, where he studied extensively with renowned jazz saxophonists, Eric Marienthal and Jeff Clayton (Clayton-Hamilton Big Band).

Isaac has opened for renowned artists such as Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith and has performed at Paisley Park (the late Prince's extraordinary private estate). He has performed and recorded with multiple top-notch musicians including Malcolm-Jamal Warner (a.k.a. Theo from the Cosby Show), Kirk Whalum (saxophonist for Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You"), Eddie Bullen, Liberty Silver, John Blackwell (Prince), Michael Bland (Prince), Tommy Barberalla (Prince) and Darryl Williams. Additionally, he has had the honor of playing with the Bernie James sextet and Gary Greene's Big Band of Barristers in Los Angeles.

Isaac has recorded two solo albums and his previous single (Begin Again) achieved the Most Added list on Billboard's Smooth Jazz Chart. Most recently, Isaac has been in the studio recording for his upcoming album, due to be released in February 22, 2019 (pre-order on iTunes as early as January 22, 2019). Streetwize is a charting contemporary jazz studio recording project led by saxophonist Kim Waters. His regular collaborators include vocalist Maysa Leak and guitarist Navarro; the rest of the lineup fluctuates according to a particular recording's needs. Since 2002's Streetwize: Smooth Urban Jazz, they have almost exclusively recorded jazz covers of contemporary rap and R&B hits, though Waters' love of vintage R&B, funk, and disco is acknowledged by including a classic song or two on most productions. Their sophomore date, Work It, went all the way to number two on the contemporary jazz charts. 2006's Does Dre was their first to focus on a single artist. 2012's Feelin' Sexy offered ballads and 21st century love songs; it went to number three, as did the following year's Body Party. 2015's Does the Divas was the project's first to focus exclusively on female vocalists. After a five-year hiatus, Waters brought the project back for 2020's Ocean Eyes. Lift Me Up appeared in 2024.

Christopher J. Davis, fondly known a "Big Dog", was born in Waterbury, Connecticut to musical parents James Sr. and Mary Davis. When Chris was just four years old he had the ability to hear music in a special way. He began his piano studies at age five gripping the origins of black music at the Refuge Church of Christ in his hometown. By age sixteen, Chris recorded his first forty-five gospel where he began fusing gospel, funk, classical and jazz which he has perfected into an eclectic style all his own today.

The Braxton Brothers are a jazz duo from San Diego made up of twins Nelson (bass) and Wayne (sax) Braxton. They began their musical journey in fourth grade, and by high school, both brothers were multi-instrumentalists and members of the California All-State Honor Bands. Nelson studied tuba at San Francisco State University, and Wayne performed in the Jazz A Band at Cal State Northridge

The brothers started writing and recording music together on demo tapes, and then decided to put their music on CD and sell it to record stores and radio stations in the San Francisco Bay area. Their debut album, Steppin' Out, was released in 1996, followed by Now and Forver in 1999, Both Sides in 2002, Rollin' in 2004, and True Love in 2013.

With an organic sound that blends elements of Jazz, Hip Hop and Classic Soul, these twin brothers from California are busting down the walls of existing genres. "Our goal is to make good music, the kind that you can listen to all day long" says Wayne Braxton. "Yeah, we play instruments, but we love R&B and rap just like everyone else. When we write, we paint with every color available, whether it's a vocal, a sax, a rapper, a bass or string orchestra. It's all about the music." Nelson adds "We grew up with rap and hip hop and saw how those artists mixed and matched all kind of sounds to create music that is now a staple of popular music across the world. Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter

Unquestionably one of the rock/pop world's leading guitarists, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter also has a life story so unusual it recalls the title of Alton Delmore's autobiography, “Truth is Stranger Than Publicity.”

Born in Washington D.C., but raised partly in Mexico City, partly in a Connecticut prep school and partly in late '60s Boston, Baxter was delivering amps to a session in New York City when the guitarist didn't arrive. He grabbed a guitar then and thus, at age 16 began a recording career that has spanned over 55 years and continues to this day.

He joined the Hall of Fame inductees The Doobie Brothers in 1974, later bringing Michael McDonald to the band and helping that group craft such enduring treasures as "Takin' It To The Streets", "It Keeps You Runnin'" and "What A Fool Believes".

During the ‘70s, '80s, '90s and 2000+, he continued his high-level session work, contributing key guitar and pedal steel work to recording projects by Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, Freddie Hubbard, John Cougar Mellencamp, Cher, Rod Stewart, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, Julio Iglesias, Barbara Streisand, Harry Nilsson, Gene Simmons, Elton John, Carly Simon, Donna Summer, The Ventures, Edgar Winter and The Beach Boys, (to name a few), as well as touring with Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Julian Lennon and Linda Ronstadt.

Through all this he has earned numerous Gold and Platinum albums, two Grammys and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, in the process. He was also a consultant with AKAI Digital as their Senior Technical Advisor, and held consulting positions with Gibson, Bedell Guitars, Fender, Epiphone, Audio-Technica, D’Angelico Guitars and has been with Roland Corp for over 40 years, involved in on-going design/consulting work on numerous Roland and Boss products including the first commercially successful Guitar Synthesizer and its progeny. He continues to pursue his career as a guitarist, producer, engineer, composer and technical consultant and has no intention of slowing down.

Faced with the discouraging thought that his asthma would prevent him from playing the saxophone, Chris turned to his faith as a source of strength and determination. Award-winning trumpeter /singer /guitarist /band leader Ilya Serov has a passion for jazz that knows no bounds. A talented young musician with an old soul, Ilya brings an infusion of imagination, vision and energy to the many shades of America’s original musical art form. Possessing both chops and charisma, his live performances and recordings have attracted a solid following among jazz fans and seasoned musicians alike.

Ilya first encountered jazz as a teen, exchanging tapes and records with fellow musicians. His earliest jazz influences were Arturo Sandoval, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra and Nat “King” Cole, and he eventually incorporated their sounds and vocal stylings into his own music.

When not on stage, Ilya spends his time in the recording studio. His debut album, September in the Rain (2013), was a Big Band outing of classic jazz standards that highlighted both his horn and vocal skills. That album was followed by the release of Back in Time (2018), featuring classic tunes and instrumental collaborations with legendary pianist Roger Kellaway, and acclaimed saxophonist Eric Marienthal, and GRAMMY®-winning percussionist Poncho Sanchez.

“Ilya is a great, great trumpet player and I love his voice,” said Sanchez. “He has a great thing here because it’s commercial enough for the mainstream to enjoy, but hip enough for the jazz folks to like. He can sing the tunes and play them; that’s the edge he’s got.”

After hearing Serov perform, Dave Koz invited him to be a guest artist on his popular Dave Koz and Friends at Sea Jazz Cruise. From 2017 – 2019 he played on cruises throughout Europe and Australia with Koz and other Smooth Jazz greats, sharing the stage with the likes of Jonathan Butler, David Benoit, Larry Graham, Peter White and BeBe Winans. Ilya will again be a featured guest artist on Dave Koz & Friends in Amsterdam and the British Isles in May 2022.

Timothy Bowman Sr. (born April 22, 1959) is an American smooth jazz gospel musician. He started his music career, in 1996, with the release of, Love, Joy, Peace, by INSP Media Group (Insync Music) alongside Diamante Records, and they released his first three albums, 1998's Paradise and 2000's Smile. The subsequent album, This Is What I Hear, was released by Liquid 8 Records in 2004. His fifth album, Tim Bowman, released in 2008 by Trippin 'N' Rhythm Records. This album was his breakthrough release upon the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.

Artist Blurbs:

Michael Paulo is a fine saxophonist who has thus far mostly played in the pop/jazz crossover field. Paulo grew up in a musical family (his father was a pianist and his mother a singer) but did not take up the saxophone until he was 15. He developed quickly and before he left high school was playing gigs around Hawaii. After graduation, Paulo became a member of the Hawaiian pop/rock band Kalapana (1975-79), recording four albums with the group. He also recorded with Herbie Hancock during this period. Paulo was a busy studio musician in Hawaii when he moved to Los Angeles in 1981. He played with Ray Armando, with a local r&b band and in 1983 became a member of Al Jarreau's touring band, working with the singer for a decade. In 1989 Michael Paulo recorded his first date as a leader (other than an earlier set for the Japanese Trio label), One Passion (MCA) which was a strong seller. He has since recorded pop-jazz dates for GRP and Noteworthy and worked with Patti Austin, David Benoit, Johnny Mathis and many others, concentrating on his solo career in recent years.

Back with his third single on the Woodward Avenue Records label, "Blink of an Eye" is to my ears the most contemporary track that he's released since he came back on the radio scene in early 2023. Known for his alto sax playing, Michael changed up and delivers a warm tenor sax on this tune.
