We normally use this feed for entertainment and sharing random content that brings us Joes joy.

But today is different.

We share the sentiment of our friends from coast to coast, speaking out against the ignored truths of inequality in our communities and country, glossed over every day.

Don’t believe the lies that push hatred towards your fellow humans, the lies (from “leaders”) that promote fear, violence and ploys of cheap sentiment.

Instead, believe those who are asking us to critically look at oppression. Believe those asking for help to combat injustice. The fact is, a white man (and his colleagues), officers of the law sworn to protect and serve their community, killed an unarmed black man asking for a breath of air. In no circumstance is this okay. And we acknowledge this hideous truth, standing with those that acknowledge and voice the need for systemic change.

Us Joes are here to listen, support, and act with open hearts.

If humankind can choose to build and uphold racial barriers, humankind can also choose to tear those racial barriers down. - The Joes

The Alumni Challenge Grant starts tomorrow, May 16!

Last year, the Young Alumni Challenge was such a success that an anonymous donor who heard about it offered Marquette High a $50,000 challenge grant for this spring to challenge the entire alumni body to step up and be counted!

Every alumni gift made between Thursday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 22, regardless of the amount, will be matched with $100. We need 500 alumni gifts to earn the $50,000.

New this year - decade competitions. Seven generous classes, one from each of the following decades (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s), with the most donors during the challenge grant time period will win a tailgate party and Brewer game for the members of the class who participated.
