Today was the best riding conditions of the season. I got my wheel balanced by my friends at this morning and I thought I’d test it out and accidentally rode 650+ kms. 🤷♂️

In the giftbox I received from is a neat pack of 8 different colour coded Australian Bush Spice blends. Very cool flavours. This weekend I used the “blue” spice (swipe to see ingredients) on some fat prawns and people went nuts for them. Also, a perfect pairing with the Wakefield Check my stories for a pic of the cook.

It surprises some people when I tell them I do NOT like the feeling of being drunk. I drink alcohol for the sensory experience, and to enjoy the craftsmanship that goes into making a fine spirit or wine, and to share a moment with friends. My MO is drink less and drink better. Who’s with me?

One of the positives of living through a pandemic is having lots of time to shred trails with my 8yo. It’s filled this summer with challenge and adventure and insane amounts of fun. The best though, is seeing this kid in his element. ❤️

Lately I’ve been missing real life GTGs with the Hanging with a bunch of people from all walks of life, bonding over these little mechanical wonders, getting to discover watches you never knew you would like. Like this obscure model from some brand I’ve never heard of which I actually really enjoy in person.

The redemption run. After crashing in my first ever downhill race run at I got it done in run 2 and finished solidly in the middle of my category. I learned a ton and I can’t wait to do it again, although it scares the s**t out of me. 😆 Thankfully caught me this time too! 😃

First ride with my new from By far the nicest motorcycle bags I’ve come in contact with. I have a couple of their larger bags which have rode with me for tens of thousands of kms, but I wanted one of their swing arm bags for when I ride lean. Just the smell of that gorgeous, thick, veg tanned Italian leather.... and I love the aesthetic, super clean and matches the lines and attitude of the perfectly. I have a swing arm bag from HD which I like, but it’s child’s play compared to this one. And, on this ride I did about 100kms in heavy rain and my stuff was dry, whereas the HD bag would have left my stuff soaked. Nice work Ends Cuoio. 👏👏👏

On Wednesday I entered my first race. For my first year f two runs, I thought I would demonstrate alternative methods of going “downhill”. Luckily was perfectly positioned to capture my demonstration. 🤪

I’ve been working on clearing this Usually it takes all the speed and technique I can muster to just barely hump my big over the table, but last time I hit it there was a hiccup in the laws of physics and I somehow went full send, past the table, overshot the transition, landed on the flat, crashed hard into the stinging nettles, sprained my finger, took a lot of skin off my shins and ankles, and tweaked my neck. The laws of physics seem to be back to normal and I’ve dialled it in. Practice, practice, practice!

This from paired with this from , cooked to smoky perfection on the and shared with a couple good friends in the backyard.... made a meal I will remember fondly forever. We took no pictures after this, we were too busy cooking and eating and enjoying each other’s company. Somethings just can’t be captured by Instagram anyway. 🤷♂️😆

These sunglasses have gone missing multiple times. Most recently they spent 3 weeks laying in a cow field. Before that, my father-in-law inadvertently stole them for several months. They have survived my children! In the 10+ years I’ve had them, I’ve replaced the lenses at least 3 times. By far, my favourite sunglasses I’ve ever owned and if they ever go missing eternally, I will be distraught. It’s one of those cases where an object takes on a life beyond its material value. Kinda like the watches. Do you have any objects in your life like this? 😎😎

Some thoughts on the I really enjoyed the ride, but I didn’t emotionally bond with it the same way I bonded with the Livewire (or my Fat Boy, of course). I do fully see it’s appeal though. For one, I think it looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s a big bagger, but still has a stripped down raw vibe. It’s surprising how nimble it is in corners. The stock seat is very comfortable. The 107ci has good power, but felt tame compared to the 114 M8 in my lighter Fat Boy. That said, I didn’t have the urge to ride like I was on fire with this machine. I truly fell into the “cruiser” mode. Of course, Harley makes these M8s very easy to pump up into beastly powerhouses if you want. But easing down a country road was where this ride seemed the happiest. But for me, I like to be out in the wind, unencumbered by a windshield and technology and all that, so for now the Fatty is my beast. Perhaps if I get more into real touring I will circle back to the SG.

I wasn’t sure about this combo at first, but it’s quickly revealing itself as a fun summer strap and I’m loving it. It helps that the leather is super supple, lush Italian hide, and the ’s craftsmanship is outstanding. What do you think ? 🤓
