Assyrians might have to stop downloading and start buying!

(AFN) -- The Democrat-controlled Senate will vote on a bill that will force Assyrians to stop downloading and start buying music.

The 355 pages bill covers everything from downloading free music, making copies and giving them to other people. The bill includes CD’s and DVD’s. Every Assyrian will have to buy their CD’s or DVD’s to support the Assyrian singers.

SB 4454-A34 could pass by 50 to 48. No Republicans will support the bill, and three Democrats will vote against it.

Sargon Monasho head of AFFD, Assyrians For Free Downloads, marched with over 4800 Assyrians outside the Embassy of Ethiopia in downtown San Francisco. When asked by AFN Reporter on why the protest was held outside the Embassy of Ethiopia, Monasho said that he had the wrong address and the buses were not coming to pick them up until 6:00 pm “ We decided to hold our protest here rather than comeback another day “.

“We have told them to leave but they refused, and they have been playing Assyrian songs for over four hours on public address speakers”. Said Beza Ashenafi Spokeswoman for the Embassy of Ethiopia.

Today Aprim Qouryaqous Shabandar, head of the A of A, Assyrians of Arkansas, met with the Minister of State of Monaco Michel Roger.

The meeting was arranged for the two to discuss the A of A's recent decline in revenue. Shabandar told Roger that the weekly Bingo Night always had a great turnout and was the A of A's sole source of income, but this, for reasons unknown to Shabandar, was no longer the case. Roger expressed great concern for this issue and counseled Shabandar. Roger suggested that the A of A start selling sandwiches at Bingo Night at five dollars each, because this would both increase their profits as well as be convenient to the Bingo Night attendees.

Shabandar agreed that this would be a helpful implementation and expressed his gratitude to Roger.

Shabandar invited Roger to the A of A headquarters in Arkansas, but Roger did not say if he would accept. Actually, he quickly changed the subject.
