Silky Smooth Homemade Deodorant

This smooth and creamy 100% Natural deodorant is effective, cheap and easy to make. Some homemade deodorants use Baking Soda, which I found to be irritating to my skin. The arrowroot which has natural drying properties (I use it on it's own for a Dry Shampoo), works very well on it's own here. Don't be afraid to get creative and experiment with ingredients and scents. [ 215 more words ]

Quick and easy low sugar, healthy jam (or what to do with strawberries that have seen better days). 🍓

In a saucepan on medium heat combine: 2 cups or so stemmed, fresh or squishy old strawberries, 1 tablespoon sugar or honey. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon then more often as the jam begins to break down and bubble to avoid burning. Simmer a total of 15 minutes. Jar for a week in the fridge, or properly can for longer storage. Mmm jam.

Cauliflower, Leek, Potato Soup

A member of the onion and garlic family, leeks have a uniquely wonderful, almost sweet flavor. They are a rich source of vitamins C & A, and Folate. If new to cooking with leeks, have no fear, it couldn't be simpler. Choose firm, stalks without withered tops. Remove tough, green tops, slice lengthwise and rinse thoroughly to remove sandy soil they are grown in. That's it. Enjoy!
