" I couldn't care less to be honest", Bedard on reaching 100 career points last night, asked if it meant anything to him. "It's really frustrating. We're competitive athletes and we take a lot of pride in our games, our group as a team and our fan base. It's been hard. It's been a lot of games to lose. It weighs on you. Yeah, I mean, just trying to find a way of it, trying to get better every day. But it's hard."

Jonathan Toews: " haven't spoken about this to a lot of people, but it's definitely still in there. I've talked to a lot of the guys that are done, and a lot of them will say that desire to be on the ice competing and to be in the locker room with the guys never goes away. It's just something that you have to accept when your time comes. So there's that, but at the same time, I think there's a big part of me that really wants to give it my all, to get back on the ice and see where it takes me.

There's a part of me that really doesn't feel like my career is over yet, and who knows what this next part of the journey looks like, as far as getting back on the ice and trying to make a return to the NHL. There's never any guarantees in life, but I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm going to enjoy every step of the way. As hard as it's been at times, I look back now and I'm pretty thankful for it all. So we'll see what happens."

Matvei Michkov’s early-season success has cooled, leading to a benching by Philadelphia Flyers coach John Tortorella after a seven-game pointless streak. Tortorella explained the decision, saying, “It’s just been a struggle, energy. The skating, energy, it’s just not there. You could see him struggling before the break. If I have to take him out I will, or bench him during a period. It was my call.”

The Vancouver Canucks are eyeing New York Rangers defenseman Will Borgen as a potential trade target to help fill the gap left by Filip Hronek’s injury. Borgen’s solid defensive skills make him a great fit, but the Canucks will need to make a strong offer to land him, especially with other teams likely interested too.
