‘Once more cast your vote for BDP – Masisi’

Launching the 2024 election manifesto for BDP, this weekend, President Mokgweetsi Masisi has pleaded for re-election, pledging to create over 290,000 decent jobs.

The President said the party’s 2024 Manifesto under the tagline - Changing Together; Building Prosperity embodies a heartfelt pledge to Batswana, with a resolute commitment to uplifting lives.

“We envision sustainable economic growth that translates into decent jobs and vibrant entrepreneurship opportunities,” reads part of the manifesto.

Hinged to transparency, BDP promises to offer robust framework for accountability, by converting programmes into actionable projects implemented through collaborative effects between state-owned enterprises and private sector partnership.

“We aim to drive progress and prosperity for all,” said Masisi.

Masisi is confident that finance institutions will invest in product development and enhance the value of intellectual property and patents.

“This value will serve as a magnet to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) or domestic investment, channeled strategically for targeted growth and development.”

Masisi said his political party on reelection anticipate creating 294,233 decent jobs at the peak of its initiatives by implementing the projects in its manifesto.

D- day for BCP MPs and councillors

Incumbent Botswana Congress Party MPs and councillors should have decided by today whether they want to contest the 2024 general elections under the coalition party, Umbrella for Democratic Change or to leave.

The UDC earlier this year issued an ultimatum to the elected representatives after the BCP gave the coalition party six months to correct its governance issues. But it appears the writing is on the wall as BCP leader Dumelang Saleshando, at a rally in Selebi Phikwe last weekend, launched a blistering attack on the UDC and its leader Duma Boko, saying the party is beyond redemption.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in the same town over the weekend, UDC President Duma Boko, claimed the party has received several letters from BCP elected officials wanting to be incumbents come 2024.
