DE, UTME candidates to now sit same exams: JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking to gain admission to Nigerian universities will henceforth be required to sit for the UTME along with other candidates.

JAMB said that the new policy was to ensure that the DE candidates justify the possession of their A Level certificates.

This is disclosed in a statement made available to reporters in Abuja on Thursday by the board’s spokesman, Dr Fabian Benjamin, at the end of its management committee meeting.
He said the committee meeting was held to appraise the recent crisis witnessed in the conduct of the 2023 DE registration.

Mr Benjamin said the policy change was also to holistically address all loopholes giving rise to abuses in the DE admission processes.

According to him, this policy is to be situated within the ambit of the board’s relentless efforts aimed at enhancing the growth of the nation’s education sector to promote transparency, accountability and good governance.

He said the development underscored the board’s commitment and determination towards changing the negative narrative of A Level admissions into higher institutions in Nigeria.

“The board has expressed its commitment to press ahead with its efforts to reposition the conduct of public examinations in Nigeria.

“The board stated that the seeming crisis was birthed by the implementation of some of its newly-adopted processes aimed at curbing infractions in the admission value chain given our national peculiarities.

“This policy is to be situated within the ambit of the Board’s relentless efforts aimed at enhancing the growth of the nation’s education sector as it would promote transparency, accountability and good governance,” he said.

UTME 2024: What To Do While Waiting For Commencement of Registration
It is important that prospective UTME candidates know that it is never too early to start preparing for it. As a matter of fact, based on experience, one of the keys to smooth registration and success in every UTME is early preparation.
So this post will guide you on the few things you need to be doing at the moment while we wait for the commencement of the UTME sales of form and the registration.
UTME 2024: What To Do While Waiting For Commencement of Registration

1. Get your National Identification Number (NIN): In case you do not know already, no candidate will be allowed to register for the 2024 UTME without having a NIN. We earlier provided a step-by-step procedure on how you can acquire NIN. 2. Know The Course You Want To Study: Deciding on the course you intend to study is one of the things you should do now before the registration begins. This is because you need time to think before settling down for a career/course. You shouldn't pick any course. It has to be a course you have passion for; one that you have knowledge about.
3. Know the School You Intend to Apply for: Just like in choosing a course, you need to equally know beforehand the institution you want to apply for. Your criteria in choosing one should be based on whether the school offers the course you intend to study, the admission requirements of the school, the school fees as well as other personal preferences like location etc
4. Know the subject combination for your course: A lot of students make this mistake by choosing the wrong subject combinations for their course. If you want to avoid any form of mistake, use "the JAMB Brochure", to see the required subject combination for the various courses before registration begins. *JAMB TIPS OF TODAY*

*How many questions are there in JAMB - UTME ?*

There are total of 180 Questions in the JAMB CBT Exam.
Use of English is 60 questions while other relevant 3 subjects are 40 questions each.
(60 + (40×3)) = 180.

*How Many Hours Is The Exam ?*

The whole exam of 180 questions is 2 hours, i.e 120 minutes

*How do I answer all the JAMB questions withing 2 hours ?*

1. Be conscious of time. (speed and accuracy will help you score high)
2. Read All Questions carefully and make sure you understand the question before choosing an answer. Do not allow exam fever to hold you.
3.Start by eliminating the options that are odd, then compare the possible answers and make your final choice
4. Select the best option and move to the next question.

Please and please if u are doing any examination,let d name u wrote in waec,neco,gce or any exam be d same name u wrote in ur jamb
My reason is Jamb will think another person has ur result cuz ur name isn't d way u put it in Jamb
That is why most of ur result will be able to be uploaded on d jamb caps or be denied admission
Second reasons...you may likely spend alot of money to the skul and do some necessary process on the issues for Jamb to be able to give u admission

Both new students who wrote this year and those writing next year should please take note or this information

🔵|When will JAMB begin 2024 UTME registration?

One major concern of prospective candidates of 2024 UTME is the question of when the registration will commence. Also, several messages in my inbox all bother around the same question. Now, when exactly will 2024 JAMB registration begin?

There's been different updates flying around that 2024 JAMB registration will begin by October (next month). Others say it will be by November will some even say early December. The problem with this is that all these updates conflict one another. So, when exactly will 2024 JAMB registration begin?

Note that everything you see people post or hear them say are only guesses and speculations. JAMB has not officially announced any official date to begin 2024 JAMB registration. Until then, any day flying around on the internet is Fak£ and untrue.

If any date is to be taken and believed, it should be that which comes directly from JAMB.

Join as many groups as you can so you don't miss out of important updates.
