Graham Fitch demonstrates rubato in practice! He takes the 'Träumerei' from Schumann's Kinderszenen and shows how you can seamlessly incorporate rubato into your playing.
BREATHTAKING 😭♥ Dr Samantha Ege brings Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's 'Three-Fours' to life! You can watch her full performance over on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rddUZfeuNk
Coleridge-Taylor was once hailed by 20th-century critics as a ‘musical genius’. But his popularity seemed to wane – not helped by the fact that he died at the young age of 37.
In the last few years, his music has re-entered the classical concert hall thanks to brilliant new recordings from the likes of the Chineke! Orchestra, the Kanneh-Mason family and Samantha Ege. This lush Andante is the second piece from the six-movement suite.
What on earth is the 'Floating Fermata' technique?! Graham explains his handy approach to tackling tricky passages using Mendelssohn's 1st 'Song Without Words' in E Major as an example 👇🏽

These trills are rather tricky to perfect given the fact that Chopin has written them in groups of three against the on-beat notes in the left hand.
It requires plenty of concentration, hand co-ordination and practice to get these trills right. But teacher Graham Fitch is on hand to guide you through it.
Try out Graham's tips, and let us know how you get on in the comments 👇🏽

Mozart's Morning Wake-Up Call 😴💤 I'm sure a lot of us can relate to young Mozart's love of sleep... and also his dislike of an unresolved scale!
