Creative offspring of the musical fantasies of Tushen Rai and Cornelius Doctor, Hard Fist brings together a passionate, supportive and activist party scene. Celebrating a globalized - but far from rootless - dancefloor where Turkish psychedelia, Lithuanian cold wave, Central African percussion and Indonesian polyphonic chants blend, Hard Fist crosses time and borders with a singular attachment to
the folk music of trance, the kind that marks spiritual gatherings and festive rituals. Shaping the technological meeting of man and machine, the Hard Fist sound brings the experience as much on the dancefloor as in the calm of a Bedouin tent, always off the beaten track, with a free heart and clenched fists.

Cornelius Doctor & Tushen Raï talking about the label on DJ Mag Spain printed version ❤✊
Some english translation here:
"The French Tushen Raï and Cornelius Doctor lead one of the labels that has gained more recognition within the underground scene in recent years, Hard Fist. By dint of vinyl jewels and digital bombs they have managed to position themselves as referents within their scene. Well established and full of projects under the arm, I talk to them so you can get to know them a little better.
DJ Mag: Hi guys, it's a pleasure to have you in DJ Mag Spain. How was your 2023? What would you highlight?
Cornelius Doctor: 2023 was very special. We reflected on the course of our careers and our Hard Fist label. I would highlight playing at the Kappa Futury Festival and All Night Long at Badaboum in Paris.
Tushen Raï: It was time to collaborate with Cornelius Doctor on a complete project. Releasing our new EP The Peacock Spider on Permanent Vacation was a high point, exploring our old and new love for trance music.
DJ Mag: It's been more than five years since you founded your label Hard Fist, a reference in your scene. What is it like to run such a respected label?
Cornelius Doctor: Founding Hard Fist was a process and it took us years to realize its impact. It's inspiring to see how it connects with the public and to collaborate with great artists. Helping young producers and working with legends like Matias Aguayo or Jennifer Cardini is very rewarding.
Tushen Raï: I totally agree. It makes us happy to create close relationships with the artists we admire. Seeing artists who started on Hard Fist achieve success, like Romain FX, Bawrut, Strapontin, Omar Joesoef, fills us with joy.
DJ Mag: How is your job as A&R at Hard Fist and in party production?
Tushen Raï We started Hard Fist during the global democratization of social networks. It was simple: we would hear an interesting release on SoundCloud or Bandcamp and from there we would explore the label, the artists, etc. We would simply get in touch with all the people who fascinated us with their music at that particular moment. That's how it all started and is still our approach when it comes to signing a record or running a party. We feed off the enthusiasm, intelligence and talent of the artists. That's what we're mainly looking for.
DJ Mag: Let's get nerdy, what instruments do you usually use in the studio?
Cornelius Doctor: We are open to various equipment such as Moog, Dave Smith, Roland, Korgy synthesizers, many VSTs. Personally I like the more modern software, the one that uses AI. I tend to make music by accident, driven by luck, adjusting k***s or playing with samples. So I enjoy both programming synthesizers and generating things with AI. The process is not crucial, I only care about the result and the excitement of the subject.
Tushen Raï: I agree, anything can change the rules of the game, from children's toys to 2,000 euro synthesizers. And finally, what can you anticipate for 2024?"

Shkema - Room of Men Eaters EP
Release date: Feb. 29th
Shkema makes weird music for weird people. He spent ages with the analog synthesizers, looking for that right tone color. Then he added guitar sounds and various percussion. His strange and off voice component came last. He stays up late into the night, finding peace in his mind, imagining stories and creating music around it

Shkema - "Sarkja Syrkaza"
"In a land where the moon’s a cheese, and the trees do dance with ease,
There lived a beast, a Sarka Syrkaza, whose tail could twist like pizza.
With a wink of its eye and a flip of its fin,
It’d play tunes on a banjo made of tin.
Shkema watched with awe from his window sill,
As the creature sang songs that gave him a thrill.
With a shake and a shimmy, the world would twist,
As the Sarka Syrkaza played a melody, oh what a twist!
From Hard Fist it came, this wondrous tale,
Of a creature so strange, it could never fail,
To bring joy to all who heard its song,
In the land where the moon’s a cheese, where they all belong.
Shkema’s “Room of Men Eaters,” out later this month is a surreal journey into the mind of Vilnius-based producer Shkema, who crafts unconventional body music. We're premiering “Sarka Syrkaza,” a musical expression of a state of extreme sarcasm no less…
There’s definitely something in that Vilnius water all to itself."
Gang of Four meets Manfredas uptown... with Hard Fist in tow.

NEW RELEASE ON THE WAY 🦎👊 Da Iguana - Present of Future Pasts Mini LP // digital Release day: May 10th Back to the scene with a new amazing release from Da Iguana and the first animated cover by the one and only Léo Marsal. HARD FIST universe comes to life 🚀👊 Present of Future Pasts is a musical stroll, bringing the mind from one place to another. Da Iguana refers to reptilians for a reason: he produces cold blood music, explosive and unpredictable, with synths that have a reptilian scales texture and chameleon colors. In this mini LP you’ll find slow, almost still parts, and suddenly running or undulating, attacking or hiding.
