Collaborating is one of our core values, spiced up with friendship, sharing and fun. Amatori is all about this—enjoying the journey together.
Amatori is a Berlin-based collective and record label that celebrates the art of the amateur. Named after the Italian word for ’amateurs,‘ Amatori consists of international people who share their passion for music and creativity.
The core members of Amatori are based between Berlin and Bassano del Grappa in Italy. While they work full-time in areas beyond music, they use Amatori as a soundboard to bounce ideas, explore music production techniques, and most importantly, enjoy the process.
As a collective, the group encourages exchanging knowledge in a safe space, whether that space is a living room, video call, stream or DIY party location. Since 2019, the community has ebbed and flowed, welcoming friends and mutual friends from abroad into the fold. Together they build a network to boost each other’s projects. B2B DJ sets, mixing and mastering one another‘s tracks, providing feedback and sharing music is standard within the group. Supporting and encouraging creativity in any shape—as well as being supported by and in constant dialogue with other arts—is vital to the collective.
The aesthetic of Amatori has oscillated between down-tempo, layer-textured melodies like the Recel EP to percussive-heavy, dark atmospheres in Lub~Dub. Every month, the collective invites intriguing DJs to contribute to Amatori’s multi-toned Amamix archive. Building a diverse sound palette is integral to Amatori, with a policy that welcomes any genre. So far, five releases make up the label‘s back catalogue, with plenty more in the pipeline by local and international producers.

Artscope Radio #43 : Odd Hills [London / UK]

Inside of him, there is a dimension beyond that, or a sublime energy of darkness. Although it is an abyss like a black hole, powerful waves that cannot be ignored are breathing.

Odd Hills is a Lithuanian born, London based techno DJ, co-founder of Temple.Recordings and event series Temple.Invites.
His love for electronic music began from a young age, but it wasn’t until he emigrated to the UK that he identified his true sound and style. Incorporating dark and melodic elements with experimental sounds, his unique style truly takes listeners on a mesmerising journey. His hard work and dedication to the scene has led him to play across a range of clubs in London, as well as in Glasgow and Vilnius.

The lack of physical events across the past few years has led to increased focus on the Temple.Prayer podcast series, which features a broad spectrum of techno styles, allowing up and coming DJs a chance to showcase their work, alongside international heavy-hitters.

국내에도 멋있고 존중받아야 하는 아티스트들이 활동하고 있습니다. 정작 국내에선 많은 빛을 보지 못하고 있다고 생각합니다.
언더그라운드 문화를 좋아하는 그룹으로서 많이 안타까웠습니다. 레이블만의 특색을 느낄 수 있는 밤이 될 겁니다 .

Martyn Päsch [Saint-Tropez / France]

In the beginning of 2018, he started his own record label called KVLTÖ RECORDS, focused on Deep Techno, Ambient, Experimental, Hypnotic and Techno sounds.

His world of music is being built in an increasingly distinct style, perhaps as a fixed part of deep techno. Abundance of synth melody with trance charm. The kick that leads the power and the percussion that supports it. And ironically, the sudden appearance and disappearance of the break makes his music more self-established.

Korean artist Soseol is the founder of the underground music label 'MANKINART' and is a resident DJ of the techno club 'Volnost'. Dedicated to the cultural diversity of the Korean electronic music scene, he has created several music events and project albums over the years.

He has his own point of view about "Techno" as a part of whole "Electronic Music" itself, and his performances and tracks keep express on those kind of progressive aspect.

Composed of a variety of designed sounds, his works emanate sensibly and intensely, stirring people’s emotions by grafting original creation of elemental sources and independent standards. Soseol’s intrinsic self-expression and central message are deeply embodied in his works.

His ambient set, which was released this time, constitutes an atmosphere made of electronic sounds. We can have an overwhelming synesthetic experience in the space he created.
