We may be halfway to Halloween… but you won’t be waiting any longer for Haunts!

2024 marks the 10-year anniversary of German Error Message’s Fall fan favorite ‘Haunts’ and to celebrate we’re repressing not one but two beautiful vinyl variants! We heard you all loud and clear so we’re making it easier to get this record worldwide. And we’re telling you all about it now so that there’s equal opportunity to plan ahead and get your copy on April 26th.

In America, Furious Hooves will have an eerie orange & black marble “rotting pumpkin” vinyl (ltd /200). In Europe, Dying Dutchman & Gizzmoix Records will have a spooky cream & orange marble “pumpkin guts” vinyl (ltd /200) each with their own bonus goodies.

Available next Friday, April 26, at Noon EST / 6pm CET.

We are incredibly stoked to announce Furhoof’s first release of 2024: Lamniformes’ newest album ‘The Lonely Atom.’ Available March 29 digitally & on 2 variants of limited edition in a joint release between (mock seen here) & out of Canada.

‘The Lonely Atom’ is the 2nd studio album from the Brooklyn-based heavy alternative rock project . It is a concept album about the isolation of modern life, the fractured projections of the self that exist outside of us in digitally mediated spaces, and the struggle for real connection in an increasingly atomized world.

Hello Furhoof Friends & Family!

We know we’ve been distant for a long time now and we’re so sorry about that. To be transparent, I (Ryan) have been having trouble keeping up with the label amongst my numerous cancer treatments, day jobs, and whatnots. In fact, it was 4 years ago last month when I was initially released after an extended stay at the hospital post-diagnosis. But trust me, every time I see someone’s name pop up as a new follower, or a new order, or a new like… it brightens my day!

So in order to get you all excited again about and some of the fun things we’ve got coming up, we’re doing a 40% (for those 4 years) off sale on what could maybe be the last ever?? (Nothing good ever lasts)

Happy Friday the 13th! 2023 marks our 12th year and 13th release in our annual Furhoof Halloween Split Series, and what better day than Friday the 13th to release No.13?

This year we have two instrumentals from longtime collaborators Noah Kittinger (Bedroom / .noah) and Paul Kintzing (German Error Message / ), started and completed 6 years, 11 months, and 1 day apart from one another. You’ll have to listen for yourself to find out where you are when... it’s night and you’re alone.

This Friday, July 21st, Rainwater () will be releasing a new EP called ‘Wave’ into the world.

Furious Hooves will have a very limited number of ‘Wave’ EP on handmade tape for pre-order.

This will be their first since 2021’s incredible full-length ‘In-Between’ which we released on vinyl/cassette/digital. After what has been a very difficult year for us, this will also be our first label release of 2023 and definitely worth checking out.

Another year has come to an end and though people have been sharing their yearend lists for weeks, even months already, we wanted to join in with our very own Furhoof Faves of 2022. So, we asked some Furhoof artists that released music this year, as well as some others, what some of their favorite (non-Furhoof) releases of the year were.

We hope you enjoy, and of course, if you like the recommendations… support the artists directly by buying their album on bandcamp or in the physical form. Oh and of course consider checking out the Furhoof artists’ work as well if their recommendations intrigue you!

Thanks to all of you for your patience and support through our 11th year of doing this little thing.

In 2022, Furious Hooves helped to put out 7 brand new releases (5 on & 1 on ), 1 reissue on tape, an entire discography (4 albums) on tape for the first time ever, and 2 represses of Furhoof classics on .

We put out a lot of honestly incredible music from extraordinary people this year, which will slip under the radar for many. However, those that do find it are sure to be moved beyond measure. We take our time to put a lot of care, love, and attention to detail in everything we do to make it something special for everyone involved.

We hope you enjoy and stick with us for 2023! And of course, if you’re new, you can always see what we’ve done already, 2011–2022.

Earlier this year we warmly welcomed a new band to our Furhoof family and introduced you all to BAL (pronounced like “pal” with a B) – the new project from longtime bandmates, Jack Foster (House of Fools, Far-Less, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers) and Jordan Powers (House of Fools, Far-Less). In early 2020 the pair decided it was time to look to the stars for newfound inspiration and blasted off, drawing from a love of all things sci-fi, as well as a shared affinity for ‘90s Alt/Indie and Heavy Rock music. The result is ‘Seafoam’ – a grungy cosmic blend of science fiction and rock & roll.

‘Seafoam’ tells a fresh story in high fidelity. The saturated guitars (a la Silverchair, Failure, or Local H) rarely clean up, while hyper-driving, pocketed drums offer contrast to a generally subdued vocal (think Grandaddy). Recorded by BAL and friends, and mixed by longtime co-pilot Brandon Hackler, ‘Seafoam’ will be available November 18th 2022 digitally and on limited edition cassette tape. The artwork was beautifully created by Josh Brockett () specifically for this story/album/music/world.

For those wanting to take a deeper dive into the world that BAL’s ‘Seafoam’ creates, Jordan Powers wrote a short-story called “Zero Andy One” which will be available as an individual 20-page 5.5”x8.5” zine.

And for the deep-space-heads, we’ve also handmade a special edition ‘Seafoam’ with alternate art by Ryan McCardle in a mini-VHS-style trimpack with mini-zine version of “Zero Andy One” only limited to 20 pieces.
