UPDATE TIME
First of all, I want to thank everyone who's still out there excited for my return to radio and all of your kind words. It's given me so much motivation to do this because I know you miss OTAL as much as I do!
I'm trying out some new stuff this time around I want to tell you about. First, I've installed some radio automation software which I'm really excited about because I want top notch production here. Just because we're not a terrestrial show doesn't mean we can't compete for that level of quality.
I'm going to stream primarily on Odysee because free speech is the biggest factor in the whole thing. I may put clips and teasers on Youtube but honestly at this point, we should all be weening ourselves from big tech platforms. I'm on Flote and Mewe and want to start moving in that direction too. Maybe we could also do a Telegram chat group as well, I'm open to suggestions on that one.
I do need to find a program to send audio/video to the streaming platform. I used to use Xsplit but if there are alternatives that don't involve a monthly fee I want that. That way we can do an overlay with the phone number and all that stuff.
I've got the same name for Skype calls, that's "offtheairlive". New phone number though. 603-684-2859. I'm always going to have open phones because listener interaction and spontaneity is top priority for me.
My biggest snag right now is getting the website and e-mail back and getting a few pieces of physical equipment. I still haven't heard back from my domain provider so I'm going to keep on it but if we have to switch to a .net then so be it. The good news is my podcast hosting is fixed no problem and you can enjoy the archives right now at http://offtheairlive.libsyn.com.
As for equipment, the studio is functional but at some point in the past few years I lost my mic preamp. Not a big deal, the mixer has a built in one that sounds OKAY but you know me, I want the best. I also need a new external we**am, a cable, possibly some lighting and soundproofing.
But with all that said, a quote from Mark Twain comes to mind. "Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection."
In other words, how does Tuesday and Thursday nights 10pm-12am sound to you?
