We are heartbroken to let you know that Dr. John Plunkett has died following a long battle with cancer. John, 70, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and our hearts are with his family. John was a renowned pathologist and hero to countless families who he defended in courts across the country, often pro bono. He spent his retirement helping those wrongly accused of harming or killing their children because of the junk science of shaken baby syndrome. John was known around the world for his brilliant work examining the legitimacy of shaken baby syndrome. He was a man of great courage who, even when bullied and wrongly prosecuted, did not back down and continued to fight for innocent families and scientific integrity in our courts. We were deeply honored to showcase him and his work in our documentary. He will be greatly missed.
