One of my long time favorite bands METZ released an amazing compilation of b-sides today called Automat. I’m honored that they chose this live photo as the cover. I took it a couple of years ago at one of their release shows for II in Toronto (that’s Protomartyr’s Scott sitting in the frame!)

This the 5th year that I produce and direct video content for Le Guess Who?, a festival that I hold very dear. After video portraits on curators Shabaka Hutchings and Moor Mother this is the 3rd one. On a colaboration with Centraal Museum. And Lucrecia Dalt, who is creating an exclusive soundtrack to the museum's current exhibition, that can be heard during the festival. I looked her up at Unsound in Poland earlier this month.

Melaku Belay, Terrie and Getatchew Mekuria getting off the plane at Boston Logan International, August 2008. Definitely the closest I've come to the cliché of 'rock and roll photography' but one my favorite photos nonetheless.

I followed the collab of Getatchew & The Ex on tour, on and off, from 2007 till their last shows in Addis Abeba in 2014.
