Came across this 12/27/91 Broadcast Data Systems BDS report that record labels paid for to track airplay …In Paradise by Laissez Faire got 585 plays on Top 40 Stations that week on 58 stations up from 542 plays the week before . Fun times .

Saddened to learn of the passing of one of Metropolitan Records first artists John Jimenez PKA Sebastian who recorded several songs for us in the late 80s and early 90s two of which are regarded as freestyle classics…. The Nights We Shared and Santa-Li .

As the yearlong celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop continues, I recently came across this photo from 1993 at a family event with guests and hip hop legends Sylvia and Joe Robinson, the founders of Sugarhill Records…the seminal hip hop record label (think Rappers Delight by Sugarhill Gang / The Message by Grandmaster Flash etc, etc) family friends and decades long customers of our record manufacturing business that started in 1946…42 years before the launch of Metropolitan Records in 1988.
