Sue Irwin is a children’s author, educator, and presenter. A member of SCBWI and Inked Voices, Sue serves on the planning team for Write2Ignite, and hosts their monthly Time2Write sessions. She has written nature features, biographical articles, and how-to craft articles, and her work has been published by Clubhouse Jr, AppleSeeds, and Highlights for Children magazines, and Reading A-Z. Her middle-grade books for the general market have received top awards from the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, and have been named as Canadian Children’s Book Centre “Best Books for Kids and Teens” selections, included as “Recommended Reads” on the TD Summer Reading Club list, and shortlisted for the “Silver Birch Award.”

Get to know Megan in her own words:

I am 43 years old, married with two children and am a shop owner. We live in an old Pennsylvania farmhouse that we have been renovating ourselves over the last 15 years. Our farmhouse is a true fixer upper and was in a sad state when we bought it so I started sharing that renovating process on a blog (Farmhouse5540.blogspot.com) that I started about 15 years ago. I no longer blog but I share our farmhouse renovations, my decorating ideas, shop life and everything and anything I find beautiful on my instagram page . Our home has been featured in over 10 magazines, many of which I have done the photography for myself. I have been selling antiques for over 10 years now and have been a shop owner for 6. My shop is located in an old general store in an old railroad town out in the country. Being a mom, giving old things a new life, decorating, renovating, gardening, photography, running my antique/home decor shop, sharing my work and inspiring others with my ideas are my biggest passions.Nothing makes me happier than to make something people considered garbage (our farmhouse included) into something beautiful. I would say one of my greatest strengths is seeing the potential in something others think is worthless.
