Soon or later the world will blame Africans for their poverty and forget how much our continent benefit their daily livelihoods.
They point fingers at our culture, oppose our politics and call us stupid when the resources that would help our families send their children to school are being exported so their children can read, write and communicate.
Sighhhhh

Meet Manya Mashengo. A.K.A M-double. An artist from Africa and now Finland
Originates from DRC, grew up in Dzaleka and now blowing up with amazing performances across Finland.
When M-double started music in the camp it seemed like something h did for fun and to pass time. There are limited resources in any camp you can imagine and one of them is the luck of opportunity to express yourself, talents and dreams. However, this is very common in any underdeveloped society. It is hard and unimaginable for a young folk in the lands of Africa, Some parts of Asia, Latin America or indigenous communities of America to make the best out of their hardship. But M-double stands out as a testimony. He does not only sing to pass time anymore, he now sing because he wants to.
When life get touch we tend to lose hope and forget what we love, we forget that which makes us smile and in the end we become weak and depressed. For someone living under such circumstances to be to standout and perform in front of other young men and women sharing similar grief, to hid his pain and show happiness, that tells us that we can all be happy no matter what situation we are living in.
The video attached was the first M-double made and was produced by Deba Mix in Dzaleka. Deba Mix is another fellow dedicated to making his life and that of his family better under his living conditions.
M-double now produces his own music and promotes himself.

Meet Menes la Plume, An inspiration to me, Young Africans and the dream chasers of Dzaleka Refugee camp. His story is all over al jazeera, TEDtalks and you can just google his name if interested. The attached site (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-7nKdX3KtE) is where you can find his TEDtalk.
Born in in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Lu‘Menesm (real name Menes la Plume) is a an artist based in Malawi. He sings hip-hop music and is also a poet. His love for music began in 1998 while he was a teenager. He used to write poetry and sing rap music in DRC. Menes relocated to Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi in 2008 due to political disturbances in the DRC. His rap music is a fusion of Congolese and French languages.
He established a music crew called ADKS. He has toured different cities of Katanga and participated in different festivals around the country.
Apart from making music, he music promoter and participates in many cultural activities around the country. He also teaches creative writing at the Dzaleka Cultural Association where he is the founder and President. He is also a Communications & Liaisons Assistant at Ministry of Higher Education.
This year he launched an extra-ordinary show that changed the image of Dzaleka Refugee Camp. Bring artists from all over to perform in this place that most of us would expect to be surrounded by flies and stinking pots and spoons with hungry kids crying. Well in most camps that used to be the case.
