Will season three follow Diana Gabaldon’s book Voyager where Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are off to sea?

15/07/2016

Thy sea, O God, so great,
My boat so small.
It cannot be that any happy fate
Will me befall
Save as Thy goodness opens paths for me
Through the consuming vastness of the sea.

Thy winds, O God, so strong,
So slight my sail.
How could I curb and bit them on the long
And saltry trail,
Unless Thy love were mightier than the wrath
Of all the tempests that beset my path?

Thy world, O God, so fierce,
And I so frail.
Yet, though its arrows threaten oft to pierce
My fragile mail,
Cities of refuge rise where dangers cease,
Sweet silences abound, and all is peace.

- Breton prayer

The Dunbrody Famine Ship will reenact the Boston Tea Party, while American Tea Parties will be conducted throughout the town. Fireworks over the River Barrow will end the night at 10.30pm.

On Saturday and Sunday, all day festivities include the All Ireland Pipeband Championships in the Town Park and a strongman competition (Saturday only), and unique “American” dining options at the cafes, pubs and food eateries nearby.

Teresa Delaney, an organizer for the event, said, “year we had flocks of U.S. visitors make their way to New Ross to celebrate their national holiday with us and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. It’s going to be a great day of celebrating our unique Irish American links and festivities are extended this year to take in the wonderful All Ireland Pipe Band Championships with lots of events on offer for all ages and tastes throughout the weekend.”
