Iconic reggae star Sizzla Kalonji is still listed in stable but serious condition at the University Hospital of the West Indies U.H.W.I in Kingston.
A member of the singer’s family told Urban Islandz that they are thankful that his injuries are not more serious although they are life threatening.
“We are getting a lot of support from all across the world and we are thankful for all the prayers pouring out for Kalonji,” the family member disclosed. “His injuries are very serious, but we just thankful that its not worst.”
According to another relative of the singer, Sizzla received several chest injuries including broken ribs and shoulder.
“Most of his injuries is on his upper body, his collar bone broke, fractures ribs and arm,” the artist relative told Urban Islandz. “He suffered internal bleeding, he is very lucky to be alive, we are all praying for him.”
Sizzla, born Miguel Collins, was hit off his motorbike by a bus while travelling on the Salem main road in St. Ann on Wednesday night (August 24). The bus driver reportedly fled the scene following the accident.
Sizzla’s family and Kalonji Muzik released a joint statement on the situation.
“The family of Miguel Collins and staff of Kalonji Muzik would like to thank everyone for praying for Sizzla Kalonji and sending him positive energy. As strong and resilient as his messages, we look forward to seeing him on a powerful journey towards healing. Sizzla is presently surrounded by lots of love from his family and friends.”
