After watching 'Captain Phillips' a second time, its safe to say that its worthy of its Best Picture of 2013 nomination.

'The Lone Survivor' review: A powerful way to kick off 2014 in the industry of film, this based on a true story war drama will terrify you with its visuals and rather gory scenes. With an instant love to the collaboration of actors used, cinematography, and intensity, 'The Lone Survivor' is more than a shoot em up action flick, but if you want a war movie, you definitely got one. 88% out of 100%

08/11/2013

'Watchmen' review: A great superhero team. The film focused a lot about the grimy, dark and disgusting condition of the human heart while adding a bit of the classical heroics that superheroes do. The noir cinematography with the slo-mo snapshots is typical Zack Snyder. One of my favorite superhero films. 89% out of 100%

07/11/2013

"Tron: Legacy" review: Winner of 3 awards including, Best Art Direction, Best Score, and Best Actor for Jeff Bridges, Joseph Kosinki's debut in filmmaking hits hard with this masterful Disney scifi film. With my first view of the film, it instantly became one of my favorite movies. The musical Score is easily in my top 3 list for best music for a film. It also deserves Best Costume Design, Best Supporting Actor for Garrett Hedlund, and Best Picture. 92% out of 100%

03/11/2013

'The Iron Giant' review: Not only is it one of the best animated feature films of all time, but its also one of the best films I've ever seen. With very touching moments and sensitive topics, 'The Iron Giant' nails the topic of who we choose to be in life with so much emotion that you forget that its an animated film because its brought to life so vividly. Worthy of Best Animated Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Actor for Vin Diesel, and Best Picture. 95% out of 100%

02/11/2013

'The Untouchables' review: With a great all-star cast, this classic confrontation between good and evil delivers good acting, engaging mob shootouts, powerful cinematography and catchy Academy Award worthy musical Score. Now one of my favorite mob films. 94% out of 100%

05/10/2013

'Rush' review: Easily my new favorite film about vehicles, Ron Howard delivers this fast paced rivalry in Formula 1 racing following James Hunt and Nikki Lauda, played by Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl. The chemistry that Hunt and Lauda shared quickly became my favorite film rivalry. With eye catching cinematography and musical Score by Hans Zimmer, 'Rush' is dramatic, thrilling and dangerous. 86% out of 100%

05/10/2013

'Gravity' review: Acclaimed visionary director, Alfonso Cuaron hits another home run with this terrifying, suspensful sci fi. This film was all about cinematography and script, Cuaron did so well with it. George Clooney's character is the perfect sense of hope. I sense Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound and hopefully Best Director and Best Picture. 93% out of 100%

03/10/2013

'The Dark Knight' review: Widely acknowledged as one of the best films in cinematic history making #15 on Empire's top 500 list, #6 on IMDb's top 250 list, #2 on Hollywood's top 10 list and rated #1 for Best Movie of the Decade (1999-2009). Nominated for 8 Academy Awards, I can think of 5 Academy Awards this film was snubbed for including Best Picture. This film is perfect and its my favorite movie of all time. 100% out of 100%

02/10/2013

'The Departed' review: If the Academy Awards had an award category for Best Cast, I would easily give it to this film. All actors gave one their best performances including Mark Wahlberg being nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Also the winner of Best Picture of 2006, 'The Departed' is the best and most suspensful cop film in a very long time. 94% out of 100%

02/10/2013

'Inglorious Basterds' review: Quentin Tarintino's originality can't seem to get the better of him with yet another astonishing piece of film making. Nominated for Best Picture of 2009, 'Inglorious Basterds' has a cast to die for and one of the most entertaining scripts Ive ever seen. 95% out of 100%

27/09/2013

'Alpha Dog' review: Most characters didn't seem believeable, nor did I find the story that interesting but it was emotional. Acting performances from Ben Foster and Justin Timberlake saved the film. 65% out of 100%

26/09/2013

'Prisoners' review: Mysterious, disturbing, and gritty, 'Prisoners' gives a sense of no hope with its great acting, noir cinematography, and almost no forms of musical Score. It's a film that focused more on telling a good story and acting performances when opposed to other kidnap movies like 'Taken'. 81% out of 100%

26/09/2013

'No Country for Old Men' review: Winner of 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture of 2007, Joel and Ethan Coen deliver their best film yet with this powerful adaption of the novel by Cormac McCarthy. With no musical Score, 'No Country for Old Men' puts you in the mood of the dark and gritty film, making it seem like you are actually there. 98% out of 100%

26/09/2013

'Inception' review: Nominated for 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture of 2010 and winner of 4 Academy Awards including Best Cinematography, Christopher Nolan's highly original film sets the bar for innovation, creativity, imagination, and sheer perfection in the world of sci fi. With one of my favorite cast of actors, musical Score, script, and cinematography, 'Inception' wasn't great for the story it told but great of how Christopher Nolan was able to take the complex world of dreams and make it so dazzling. 96% out of 100%

26/09/2013

Once again, I am changing the way I rate movies. They will be given a percentage out of 100%

21/09/2013

'American Beauty' review: Sam Mendes' obsession with the novel 'American Beauty', claiming to have read it 4 times in a row, pays off in astounding fashion with his directional debut snagging 5 Academy Awards including Best Picture of 1999. The acting in collaberation with musical Score and script make it beautiful. A 2nd Stage 9.2/10

19/09/2013

'Green Street Hooligans' review: This film puts you in a plot you rarely see: gangs in London, and it does a fine job at doing so. Charlie Hunnam gives his best performance I've seen. I don't know if he is actually British but he pulls the accent perfectly. The film starts fast and doesn't let up. A 1st Stage 9/10

16/09/2013

'The Sixth Sense' review: One of M. Night Shyamalan's finest piece of art, 'The Sixth Sense' doesn't stick around too much with the thriller genre but replaces it with absolute powerful acting from Bruce Willis and Shyamalan's talented written script. While avoiding to be a thriller, the film has been engraved as one of the best thrillers around which puts me in awe. Loved the plot twist. A 2nd Stage 9/10 film.

08/09/2013

'Oblivion' review: From the director of 'Tron: Legacy' and the producer of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes', comes the absolute surprise and masterpiece of 2013 I've been waiting for. Surpassing my expectations completely, 'Oblivion' delivers amazing cinematography, special effects, and musical Score. This film rapidly became my favorite Tom Cruise film, and one of my favorite films of 2013. A 2nd Stage 8.7/10

07/09/2013

'Riddick' review: The classic formula of Riddick returns to the silver screen with a decent performance from Vin Diesel and brutal special effects. Fans of 'Riddick' will be pleased. A 1st Stage 7.7/10

04/09/2013

'The Place Beyond The Pines' review: Director Derek Cianfrance delivers the most powerfully driven film of 2013 with the simple plot of fathers, sons, and consequences. Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper bring one of their best preformances of their career. A very original impacting film that makes you wonder what secrets that could be revealed in your life. A 1st Stage 8.7/10

02/09/2013

'Pain & Gain' review: Marky Mark and The Rock do an interesting dynamic duo in this based on a true story film. The script and acting lead me to believe just how crazy these 3 criminals were and what risks they took. Despite Micheal Bay being somewhat of a fail of a director based on 'Transformers' 2 & 3, he was able to convince me he still has tricks up his sleeve with 'Pain & Gain'. The film also had catchy musical Score and was kind of lengthy. A 1st Stage 8/10 film

01/09/2013

'Crash' review: Much like 'Brooklyn's Finest', this 3 Academy Award winning film including Best Picture of 2005 was able to tell a story of around 10 characters and have them intertwine with one another pitch perfectly. With its near impecable script, musical Score and powerful acting, 'Crash' will leave you breathless. Only complaint is that 3 main characters were a bit unnecessary and seemed like they were thrown in to fill screenplay. A crashing 2nd Stage 7.8/10 film

31/08/2013

'The Butler' review: This based on a true story film lacks in script and acting. It could have been filmed a lot better for a story so powerful. A 1st Stage 6.9/10 film

24/08/2013

'Brooklyn's Finest' review: From the acclaimed director of 'Training Day' comes one of the best cop thrillers. The film was able to tell a story of 3 unconnected cops and give each a thrilling story while giving each character equal screen time. Each actor gave one of the preformances from their entire career. A 1st Stage 7.8/10

23/08/2013

'The Dark Knight Rises' review: Dispite it being a massive blockbuster hit and the most anticipated film of 2012, Christopher Nolan's epic conclusion to the Caped Crusader still has its flaws. With its whopping plot holes and spoiling of the end, 'The Dark Knight Rises' may not have been what people were expecting. But the films cinematography, film editing, and musical score were definately Academy Award worthy. It's not the best of the trilogy, but I can't see Batman to be concluded in such a matter ever again. Well done, Christopher Nolan. A 2nd Stage 8.2/10

18/08/2013

'District 9' review: Niell Blomkamp takes the simple plot of an outsider saving a distressed group and takes it to the absolute max. With stunning special effects, screenplay, sound mixing, film editing and entertaining action, 'District 9' was definately worthy for its Best Picture of 2009 nomination. A sci fi blockbustering 2nd Stage 9.3/10 film.

15/08/2013

` Lawless review: With a cast that consists of 2 actors from `The Dark Knight trilogy, 2 actors from Academy Award winning film `Zero Dark Thirty`, a kid from `Transformers` and main actor from `Memento`, what could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately a lot can. This based on a true story film doesn't even feel like it took place in history with its plot holes, bad story telling, and setting. Either than this, all actors proved to me that they can act. Only, where the heck was Gary Oldman? A 1st stage 7.5/10

14/08/2013

`Drive` review: I feel like the director of this film used the concept of stunt driver by day, wheelman for criminals by night as an excuse to make an original screenplay movie. Besides this, the film was able to truly succeed in storytelling with a good balance of action and car chases which puts the entire `Fast and Furious franchise to shame. My only complaint is the very small lack of character development in Ryan Goslings character and the excessive amount of blood. A thrill riding 1st Stage 8.6/10 film.

13/08/2013

'Children of Men' review: Alfonso Cuaron's 'Children of Men' gathers together a masterfully crafted screenplay, cast, and cinematography which puts me in anticipation for Cuaron's next film 'Gravity'. 'Children of Men' was most definately worthy for its Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing nominations. But it also deserved Best Director for Cuaron and Best Supporting Actor for Micheal Caine. A solid 2nd Stage 8.8/10 film.

11/08/2013

'Secret Window' review: Stephen King's short story 'Secret Window' gets a pleasant adaptation with a thundering performance from Johnny Depp. The film was able to take a simple plot and add little hints on top and suddenly sweeps the rug from underneath your feet with its plot twist. A 1st Stage 8/10 film.

10/08/2013

'Elysium' review: With its unbelieveable special effects, sound mixing, musical Score, and just plain awesomeness, Neil Blomkamp's 'Elysium' easily makes its way into one of the best sci fi films in recent history while also making it to the #1 spot of best movie of the year as well as engraving its shot for Academy Award gold for Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Mixing, Best Special Effects, and Best Picture. A clear 2nd Stage 8/10 film.

09/08/2013

From now on, all of the films I review will be in Stages. I will conclude if the film be a 1st Stage or 2nd Stage. 1st Stage being it can still be a good movie but still has flaws. 2nd Stage being the film is Academy Award worthy.

06/08/2013

'The Conjuring' review: I have not had this much fun with a film in a while. The sheer horror that the film displays leaves you in anticipation for its jump scares, and once it delivers, you enjoy it. Not only does it deliver the scares, but it also brings good rythm of character developement, acting, and cinematography. For a horror film, it wasn't half bad.
