Long read!!!
One reason "Black Small Business" suffer from the foundation growing process due to many having a get rich/famous/successful/independent quick mindset. We have been led to believe that we should wait on nothing but God and the IRS. We enter into business and crafts without knowledge of how it works completely and many don't care to continue studying or finding ways to improve operation and/or knowledge of the field we are jumping into...
Then mentally we allow emotions to overrule any form of commitment unlike we will vent and suppress our emotions when we are working with or for the standard "Corporate America" system. Hence, the reason many people find themselves on jobs they "hate" working with or for people they "hate" for 20 plus years.
..finally we are quick to move on (which is choice in some cases) but in our leaving we want to play victim and let the world think that we did all we could and was asked to do and the other person or entity was "badguy", therefore everyone must not work with or patronize due to their situation... instead of moving on if they really believe they have the right path going forward.
Quick test if you find yourself being the dumping ground of someone on the business rebound...
When they leave and play the victim...ask them these four questions
1. What did "they" do wrong
2. What commitment/expectation did they not meet (and how long did they not meet it)
3. What rule or guideline did they oppose?
4. If the situation is as bad as they are saying it was how long were they in it and why did they stay so long in a bad situation.
If they answer any of the 4 by deference to blaming the other party...then know they are in their feelings because something didn't go their way.
