Before travelling to Sicily I read up on all things Sicily I could find on the internet. I came across a blog who started with.. do not buy a Panama hat! Locals do not wear them and you will look like a tourist! Tourists don't wear them at home, but for some reason wear one as soon as they come to Sicily and stick out as tourists. I had 2 immediate thoughts... Wear hat on holidays? Um yeah it's kinda helpful if you don't want sunscreen and cancer and stuff 🤷 my second thought.. what's wrong with looking like a tourist? Why the need to pretend you're too cool to look like you're having a good time on holiday? I LOVE being a tourist! I love showing my excitement and love for all new experiences! We're all tourists when we leave our country, and by trying to blend in you'll dim your light and reduce your experience! The first thing I did when I touched down in Palermo? Went out and bought a Panama hat...I'm a tourist and I'm proud! 😄
