The Nugget is a concept for an English-language general humor magazine that will be based in Bahrain and targeted at local and international readership. The content will satirize common aspects of social and popular culture and present topics in a humorous perspective. If we reach our goal of being funded and established, The Nugget will be the 1st ever humor magazine of its nature in Bahrain, the
GCC and the Middle East! Why is it called The Nugget? The title comes from the term ‘chicken nugget’ which refers to Bahrainis that identify with Western culture. As The Nugget will be an English-language magazine set in Bahrain, the target readership in the country –as well as part of The Nugget’s content- will naturally include this segment. Also, we think it just sounds funny. What’s so different about it? Our team will consist of writers, artists and photographers, and each article will be the product of their teamwork and creative input. The Nugget will generate unique content that appeals to a wide range of readers and can only be found within the pages of the magazine, giving total value for money with each issue. What will it be like? Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be uploading sample articles in order to give you a general idea on what the magazine will look like. The samples will showcase the variety in content we’re trying to bring. Wanna help make The Nugget a reality? The Nugget is currently a concept but we are hoping to find the sufficient funding through TENMOU, Bahrain’s first business angels company.
