Was completely honoured to be invited by to speak in their q***r Italy corse.
I spoke about being a first generation Italian Canadian and how being raised in an Italian Catholic household, influenced and impacted my coming out Journey..
The heart of the italian culture is family and this is a reminder that not all family is blood. Chosen family is family. Bringing in aspects of your tradition and culture to the life that you want to build for yourself. I hope for change and acceptance for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community with in Italy. I also hope for wider acceptance within the Italian Canadian & Italian American community.
Ai miei genitori. Mamma e papà, grazie per il vostro amore e sostegno. Sono più che fortunata ad avere voi come genitori, poiché molti genitori non sono così accettanti. Grazie per aver instillato in me i valori e la tradizione della cultura e della famiglia italiana. Grazie per aver fatto i sacrifici che mi hanno permesso di vivere una vita migliore. Vi amo entrambi e le nostre voci insieme possono aiutare a creare un cambiamento.

Here is an embarrassing story about me🙊;
One of my favourite things to do for self care is meditate, shower, and then journal. I’ll sometimes order myself food or a treat to go along side journaling. I hear a knock at my door- I threw on my old robe and went to answer the door. The guy was acting weird but I didn’t think anything of it. When I look in my mirror… I was flashing him my 😸. Yes. commando. It was at that moment I refused to wear robes.
When sent me this robe I was hesitant, but genuinely it’s amazing. It’s a giant button up sweater in a hoodie. So say goodbye to the peep show! The hood make me feel invisible and also great for wet hair in the winter.
Naturally, in ADHD fashion- this have become my comfort wear and what I change into when clothes give me the ick.
