Dear All,

These are challenging times for everyone. But I want to convey my hope that you, your families, friends and colleagues are keeping well.

Earshot will keep working through this period adapting to radically changed circumstances. I founded the company on the notion of podcasts as the ‘audio campfire’ around which people with common personal and professional interests can share ideas and experiences.

The idea of community has driven my professional life but it is also of prime importance personally, at this time more than ever. I hope that you all find strength in your community of family, and friends. I know that many people are physically separated but just communicating and seeing each other via computer and phone can help. Keep talking!

In conclusion, I wish you all well. I will keep posting thoughts and ideas on our LinkedIn and pages as well as on the website, including a soon to be published piece with a list of the best podcasts to take your mind off things.

In the meantime, all the very best,

Richard

There are times (like now) when what's needed are diversions from the everyday. There is only so much personally and professionally we can control about the situation unfolding around us. So in that spirit I invite participants to share - in form (of course!) - something that offers an alternative from the obvious disorientating reality of where we find ourselves. To get things going listen to this wonderful profile of Tom Hanks in The New York Times 'The Daily' podcast. Audio gold. And send your recommendations to the group. https://nyti.ms/2WurSRA Keep well, safe and occasionally distracted.

On this special episode, Times features writer Taffy Brodesser-Akner learns just how nice Tom Hanks really is.
