Our Story

Akirim Press was founded back in 2001 by married couple and authors Rod and Mirika Cornelius who met while attending the University of South Carolina. Rod was a Media Arts major with a focus on script writing while Mirika was a Pre-Med Biology major with a natural talent for storytelling and editing.

It was after they wed that they decided to create their own publishing house and brand – Akirim Press. Over the course of years, they have released many novels, novellas, short stories and books of poetry under their brand, most of their work done before social media became popular. Therefore, they traveled on book tours each year, all year, from as far down as South Beach Florida to the windy city of Chicago. It is from these travels that they reached a fan base.

Now, Akirim Press has a couple best sellers under it’s brand and has a variety of stories for all to enjoy. This was and still is the mission that Rod and Mirika Cornelius set out to do with Akirim Press, and that is to create stories that aren’t being told, unique stories for all walks of life and various generations, and continue to bring quality written projects to the future of literature.
