He died around 19:00 hours at home.

MUMBI PHIRI ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR MURDER
Former PF Deputy Secretary General, Mumbi Phiri has been formerly arrested and charged for murder.
She has been jointly charged together with her co-accused, Shebby Chilekwa the former President Edgar Lungu’s barber.
The duo have appeared before Kaoma Magistrate, Bestin Hamaseke.
They are accused of the murder of a UPND supporter, Lawrence Banda who was shot during the council Chairperson by-election in Kaoma in 2019.
The matter has since been adjourned to 10th March 2022 for mention.
The two suspects remain in custody.

NAWAKWI FACES STEP SON IN COURT OVER LATE HUSBAND’S ESTATE
FDD President, Edith Nawakwi has denied meddling in the administration of the estate of her late husband, Geoffrey Hambulo.
Ms. Nawakwi’s plea on this matter follows a complaint by her step son, Dima Hambulo.
It is alleged that Ms. Nawakwi on dates unknown but between December 2021 and January 2022 moved a planter, sherrer, fork lifter, cutter among others which properties form part of the estate of the late Geoffrey Hambulo to her farm in Chisamba.
It has also been alleged that on the same dates, the accused declined to handover keys to some properties forming part of the estate.
Other allegations are that Ms. Nawakwi on dates unknown but between 12 January, 2022 and 25 January 2022 continued to tell people who are supposed to handover property forming part of the estate and the tenants renting flats at Plot No 54 Luwato Road in Lusaka's Roma township to ignore the letters of Administration issued by the High Court of Zambia labelling them as fake, so that she can collect the same.
Trial commences on April 1, 2022.

Agreed: good roads are an absolute must. However, does a good road positively impact road user behavior? How does a good road restrain you and I from overspending? How does a good road restrain us from inappropriate overtaking? How do good roads restrain us from crossing red lights or railway crossing?
So yes, we do need good roads and this will continue to be a priority, however, road user behavior, by far the single biggest cause of RTAs must be scientifically regulated.
Insurance is your regulation tool.
Consider the following:
1. There is a reason, for example, why younger drivers are or should generally be precluded from driving high performance vehicles, modified vehicles and PSVs or they get to pay a premium for this privilege.
2. There is also a reason why married people are charged considerably less for insurance.
3. There is a reason why certain occupations attract high insurance premiums than others.
4. There is also a reason why younger drivers get to pay more.
5. There is also a reason why personal habits like drinking, smoking and standing medical conditions play into one’s insurance premium.
6. There is a reason why the proposed annual mileage and proposed usage of the vehicle become factors.
7. And there is a reason why your history of accidents and motoring convictions are and should be a big, big area of conversation before a policy can be issued.
8. And generally, there is a reason why females will end up paying much less for insurance than males…
Again I say, the art of road safety is a science.
We cannot pray this one away and we cannot just build good roads and hope the problem will go away, no. We must apply ourselves a bit more.

GOV'T TO ADVERTISE FOR JOBS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR THIS MONTH-MS. MASEBO
Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo says government will this month advertise for jobs for all health workers.
She says a circular will be released soon and advised health workers who are working on voluntary basis to apply for the jobs.
The minister said this in Katete, Eastern province at St. Francis Hospital during her familiarization tour of the health facility.
The jobs to be advertised are for the recruitment process of 11, 200 health personal.
Ms. Masebo reaffirmed government commitment towards the improvement of health care services to the people.
