Pakistan Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has responded to a letter from Justice Ijazul Ahsen, expressing disappointment with Ahsen's allegations regarding the working of a committee constituted under the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Act, 2023.

In his response, Chief Justice Isa stated that his door is always open to all colleagues, and he is available on intercom and cell phone. He added that despite the allegations, Justice Ahsen did not approach him or reach out via intercom or cell phone to express concerns. The Chief Justice highlighted the importance of judicial work and emphasized the need for effective communication among judges.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has imposed a nationwide ban on the transfer and posting of deputy commissioners and additional deputy commissioners and others assigned to supervise the upcoming elections.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary Establishment and the four Chief Secretaries, the ECP emphasized the strict enforcement of the ban, citing the pivotal roles assigned to DCs and ADCs in the upcoming general elections. “I am directed to state that the Commission has appointed DROs, ROs and AROs on December 11, 2023, for the conduct of General Elections 2024. To this end, the commission has imposed a complete ban on the posting/ transfer and leaves of DROs, ROs, AROs and Data Entry Operator DEOs (EMS Operators) engaged in the election process forthwith and till the culmination of the election process,” says the letter.

عمران خان اور شاہ محمود قریشی کو فردِ جرم عائد کرنے کے لیے جج کے سامنے روسٹرم پر بلا کر کھڑا کر دیا گیا جس کے بعد عدالت کی طرف سے جو چارج شیٹ پڑھ کر سنائی گئی اس کے تحت ملزمان پر تین الزامات عائد کیے گئے۔
الزام نمبر 1: عمران خان نے بطور وزیر اعظم اور شاہ محمود قریشی نے بطور وزیر خارجہ سیکرٹ ایکٹ کی خلاف ورزی کی اور ملزمان کے غیر قانونی اقدام سے ملکی تشخص، سکیورٹی اور خارجہ معاملات کو نقصان پہنچا۔
الزام نمبر 2: 27 مارچ سنہ 2022 کو خفیہ دستاویز کو عوامی ریلی میں لہرایا گیا۔
الزام نمبر تین: ملزمان نے جان بوجھ کر ذاتی مفاد کے لیے سائفر کو استعمال کیا۔
اس سے قبل کہ متعلقہ عدالت کے جج مزید کچھ کہتے، سابق وزیراعظم اور مقدمے کے مرکزی ملزم عمران خان نے انھیں مخاطب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ’میرے جرم میں یہ بھی شامل کر لیں کہ میں نے ملکی اور غیرملکی اسٹیبلشمنٹ کو بےنقاب کیا۔‘
عمران خان نے مزید کہا کہ یہ کیسے ہو سکتا ہے کہ جس کی حکومت گرائی گئی ہو اس کو ملزم قرار دیا جائے۔
رضوان قاضی کے بقول ’جب عمران خان بول رہے تھے تو ان کا لہجہ سخت تھا جس پر جج نے عمران خان کو روکتے ہوئے کہا کہ آپ کا لہجہ مناسب نہیں۔‘
عمران خان خاموش ہوئے تو ان کے ساتھی ملزم شاہ محمود قریشی نے بولنا شروع کر دیا اور کہا کہ بطور وزیرِ خارجہ انھوں نے سینکڑوں سائفر دیکھے لیکن یہ سائفر منفرد تھا۔

Lamborghini has reached an unprecedented agreement with its unions to implement a four-day workweek for car production workers. This deal, considered “historical,” marks the first of its kind in the European auto industry, reducing working hours without a wage cut.

For the first time in eight years, Iranian pilgrims will resume regular travel to Saudi Arabia starting from December 19. Flights will depart from 10 airports in Iran, carrying pilgrims on the Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca. This development is a significant sign of improved relations between the two countries.

The resumption of full diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia was mediated by China in March. This agreement allows Iranian pilgrims to participate in both the haj pilgrimage and the Umrah, marking a positive step in religious and diplomatic ties between the nations. Up to 70,000 Iranian pilgrims are expected to travel to Saudi Arabia by the end of February 2024.

Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, has acquired a 40% stake in Gas and Oil Pakistan Limited (GO), a major fuel retailer in Pakistan. This marks Aramco's entry into the retail fuel market in Pakistan and facilitates the introduction of its Valvoline lubricants brand to the country. The agreement was signed by Aramco's Executive Vice President of Products & Customers, Yasser M***i, and the CEO of Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd, Khalid Riaz. The deal is expected to strengthen cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in the petroleum and chemical sector, providing Aramco with a new market for its products.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has released the final merit lists for public medical and dental colleges, featuring 4485 candidates. Amidst a global drop in oil prices, the interim government in Pakistan is poised to bring relief to the public in the upcoming bi-weekly review of petrol and diesel prices. International reports indicate a notable $5.49 per barrel decrease in petrol prices. Sources suggest that the Pakistani government is considering a substantial reduction of Rs13 per liter in petrol prices. Presently, petrol is priced at Rs281.34 per liter, while diesel stands at Rs289.79 per liter. If reports hold true, the new rates would be Rs268.34 per liter for petrol and Rs274.79 per liter for diesel, providing welcome relief to consumers.

NASA has successfully received a signal from a spacecraft located 10 million miles away, using a distant laser in what could be a groundbreaking development in space communications.

The achievement is part of NASA's Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) experiment, representing the first instance of data relayed through a laser from a distance greater than the Moon. The technology aims to replace traditional radio signals with optical communications through lasers, potentially improving data rates by up to 100 times.
The recent test was conducted as part of NASA's Psyche mission, which is en route to study a distant asteroid and carries a laser transceiver for communication. The success marks a significant step toward enabling higher-data-rate communications for future space missions, including potential human missions to Mars.
NASA will continue refining the laser communication system and conduct further experiments to demonstrate its capability for maintaining high-bandwidth data transfer at varying distances from Earth. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have introduced a digital Power of Attorney (PoA) service, streamlining the process for overseas Pakistanis.

This initiative eliminates the need for physical visits and extensive paperwork, allowing individuals with valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), or Pakistan Origin Card (POC) to grant PoA to residents in Pakistan.
The process involves six simple steps, including providing valid ID documents, a functioning email address, and contact number, along with biometric data for the applicant and witnesses.
The online payment can be made using a credit or debit card, and the applicant needs to scan a copy of the original PoA with required signatures, thumb impressions, and photos. The service aims to overcome geographical barriers and enhance convenience for overseas Pakistanis.

In 2020, the global gaming market reached a value of $159.3 billion and is projected to achieve $268.8 billion by 2025.
Presently, the gaming industry's revenue is more than three times that of the music industry and nearly four times that of the film industry.
