We’re headed to Wheatley Ontario for rounds 5 & 6 of the Flat Track Canada Inc. National series. This 1/4 mile cushion track is home to some of Canada’s past and present top racers and known to be an action packed bar banging, cushion flying track where it’s anyone’s race to win. It is also home to our beloved and deeply missed Jesse Phibbs 93T. For those of you who never had to pleasure of knowing Jesse , I want to take a second to give you an idea of just who he was and a little about his racing career. From the age of 8 Jesse began riding around his family farm. He got the itch to race and began his racing career in 2005 on a CR250. Jesse took home his first win at the Leamington half mile on John Parker’s 600 Rotax in the novice class. Jesse spent some time racing in Ohio and Michigan and was able to grab a few wins. He moved to the expert class in 2010 and heading to Lima Ohio where he qualified 3rd. In August of 2010 Jesse headed down to the US to race the Indy mile. He was fastest qualifier and was undoubtably on his way to making a name for himself there. He was put in the spotlight that day and interviewed in front of the crowed. Unfortunately Jesse had a bad get off that landed him in the hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries. Jesse was one of the most talented racers and he was pleasure to watch get sideways. Off the track Jesse was loved by everyone he came into contact with. His kind heart, genuine personality, and warm smile will always be missed. To keep his memory alive there will be a dash for cash and a memorial lap in his honor this weekend at Erie Ramblers on Saturday August 24th for the 4th round of the series. Whether you knew Jesse personally or not we encourage you all to join us in the memorial lap. 93T Forever❤️
