PUNCH: South Africa grants Ghana visa-free entry, excludes Nigeria...
Come to think of it, do we really need to be worried about South Africa immigration policy ?
If our leaders get just small sense and organize this nation based on selflessness and honesty devoid of ethnicity, they should be begging us for visa with added token.
Unfortunately we are bereft of good leaders leaving us vulnerable

🎤"THE HOLY SPIRIT - A GUIDE FOR CHRISTIANS "

Today we celebrate the second most important celebration in the church. Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the solemnity of Pentecost. Pentecost is important for several reasons, namely;

1) It is a commemoration of the descending, indwelling and transforming act of the Holy Spirit. Jesus before Ascending into heaven promised to send the Holy Spirit, the advocate, the teacher, helper, the comforter. This promise was fulfilled on the Pentecost day.

2) At Pentecost, the different languages spoken was understood by all. Same, the Holy Spirit brings people of all kind together under His leadership. He binds together everyone in unity. St. Paul will remind us, that in one spirit, we all are baptized in one body.

3) It was at Pentecost that Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Penance. He entrusted this mission on his disciples when he said ; " Recieve the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven, if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

4) At Pentecost, the church was given birth to. It is the birthday of the church. That is why it is known as a Pentecost church.

Beloved, today is not just a special day to the church but also in our lives. A day that the Holy Spirit rekindles again in us the fire of his love. It is through the working of the Holy Spirit that we can recieve the gift of forgiveness and healing as we see in today's gospel.

The importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives can't be over emphasized. The work given to us by Jesus is an enormous one that we can't do alone. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to fulfill the mission that God has given to us. Like the disciples on the day of Pentecost, we become bold and courageous to speak openly the message of Christ.

Let's be very careful when, how and where we use the name of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit should never be used at anytime for destruction. It is not and can never be an agent of destruction. It's not a Spirit of division but unity, it is a spirit of love, compassion, mercy, patient, kindness and the likes.

Finally, we pray that the Holy Spirit will give us the grace to rekindle the fire of his love in us to the world. Amen.

Happy Pentecost & do enjoy the continued protection of the third person of the Blessed Trinity.

Crime: Bread seller killed, two others shot as masked cultists go wild.
Some persons believed to be members of a cult group and have been operating in Asaba, and its environs in Delta State, on Thursday evening shot dead a 34-year-old bread seller identified as Chukwudi Okolie, alias A boy, at Ibusa Asaba Junction.

It was gathered that the masked suspected cultists stormed the business center of the victim at about 6:30pm in a Toyota Corolla car without plate numbers and made straight to where the victim was attending to his customers.

An eyewitness, Stella Okolie, said the cultists came down from their vehicle, armed with guns as they made straight for the victim and shot him in the head and stomach before zooming off.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the killing of the bread seller to journalists in Asaba, said two other persons were shot at the same time but only sustained injuries and were taken to federal Medical Center ( FMC) where they are currently being treated.

DSP Aniamaka further disclosed that though no arrest has been made, but investigation was ongoing with a view to arresting the cultists.

He said: “The Cultists shot the victim on the head and stomach at the Ibusa Asaba jnction where he sells bread. We are told that the victim was a member of the same cult group, and he was billed on a pay back time.

He assured that the Police will do everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of the evil act.

However, the mother of the victim, Madam Dumebi Okolie, who spoke in tears to newsmen in area, said, “Cultists killed my son. I warned him he will never listen to me. I have two of them as boys, now they have killed one. I am finished, we are from Asaba, and my son had been selling bread I didn’t know he had joined the cult group, only God help me,” the bereaved mother lamented.

Delta Prosperity Crusaders -
Okowa Commissions Six Road Projects In Ndokwa East

SIX different road projects were today (12/02/19) commissioned in Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who repeatedly assured the people of his administration's commitment to construct more roads in the next four years.

The governor commissioned roads at Iselegu, Ushie and Beneku amidst thunderous ovation by the excited members of the communities who came out in their large numbers to appreciate him.

Governor Okowa observed that his administration was able to construct the roads because of the peaceful nature of the people, stating, "our business as a state government is to link communities by roads to boost the general economy of our people."

"Our priority is to continue with the road construction to link other communities; the people of Ndokwa East for several years have been very good host to oil companies; we are concerned as a government about issues that affects oil producing communities, you have been using the pontoon to cross the Ase Creek but, we are taking a bold step to construct a bridge across the Ase Creek, the contract has been awarded because the project is dear to my heart," the governor disclosed, adding, "we make promises for what we know we can do and I must appreciate you (the people of Ndokwa East) for ensuring that the activities of the oil companies are not interrupted because, with such, as a state, we get our own benefits of the oil companies working without interruption."

Governor Okowa who was joined in the commissioning exercise by former Governor James Ibori and the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Kingsley Esiso, urged the people to vote for all the candidates of the PDP in the Presidential and National Assembly elections which will take place this Saturday and also, vote for the candidates of the PDP in Governorship and state House of Assembly elections billed for March 2.

"We have to vote for candidates of the PDP all the way; In the first election which is coming up this Saturday, we have to make a mark with unprecedented number of votes for the PDP because, equity demands that Delta North will do its two terms of eight years; we should work hard and ensure that everybody comes out to cast their votes on the days of the elections," the governor stated while thanking Chief Godwill Obielum and other leaders of the party in the area for the supportive roles they are playing in his administration.

Comrade Uche Abuanekwu in an address on behalf of Iselegu people, said, "we thank the performing Governor for all he has done for the entire people of Ndokwa East and Iselegu in particular, especially the construction of Iselegu entrance road and the upgrading of our schools both primary and secondary are now wearing a new look; we want to assure you, our dear Governor that all our votes are for you and all the PDP candidates, come February 16 and March 2, 2019 elections."

At Ushie, the President-General of the community, Hon. Samson Nwose in an address thanked Governor Okowa for constructing the Ushie township roads assuring him of the continual support of the people of the community till 2023.

Chief Odalonu Otuya had on behalf on the people of Beneku, described Governor Okowa as a blessing to Deltans and assured him of the votes of the people for candidates of the PDP.

Chairman of the local government council, Hon. Juan Guvnor thanked Governor Okowa for his administration's commitment to the spreading of democratic dividends to the people.

Why APC is just ‘turnioniown’ - Fredrick Nwabufo

It is easier to solidarise in "struggle" than in victory.

In 2013, the PDP galloped from one crisis to another until it imploded and lost power at the centre in 2015. But the party’s eclipse happened after it had enjoyed 16 years in power.

Currently, the APC is embroiled in tremulous wrangling. And this is just after three and a half years of savouring victory.

A few days ago, I watched as Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman, gave Rochas Okorocha, Imo state governor, a dressing-down at the presidential rally in the state. I was shocked at the national chairman’s indiscretion with words. This is a governor whose support is crucial in the APC winning the presidential election in the state. How do you expect him to really work for the party after a public and televised ridicule by the chief of that party?

The triggers of the kerfuffle in Imo state are the same as those in Zamfara state, where the governor vowed to assault any of the party executives who come to mediate in the crisis.

Why is the party unravelling so soon?

The APC presidential rallies across the states have accented the deep and festering sores in the party. I watched as Rotimi Amaechi and Abike Dabiri “squabbled” at the rally in Adamawa. And yesterday at the rally in Ogun, a despondent Bola Tinubu flung an APC flag like garbage. More discomfiting is the distraught party supporters throwing projectiles while the president raised the hand of Dapo Abiodun, the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

And where is the logic in President Buhari asking supporters to vote for him, and at the same telling them to vote for any governorship candidate of their choice - “across party lines” – as he did in Imo and Ogun state? This must be a novelty in political immolation. It is a recipe for disaster.

But is this upheaval capable of causing an upset in the electoral fortunes of the APC? I think so, if it is not managed well and soon enough. This is exactly where the PDP was in 2015.

When political parties do not run on ideologies, but on interest, there is bound to be head-on collisions. Obviously, the merger which resulted in the carnation of the APC was oxygenated by one interest – to grab power. But the brokers of the deal did not ask, “after we take over power what next? How do we manage it? How do we manage the pool of interests? And how do we deliver good governance to Nigerians.”

Success not prepared for could be a curse.

This here is the reason the APC is just ‘turnioniown’

Delta State- Okowa Expresses Confidence In Hitch-free Polls That Will Produce God-Fearing Leaders.

AS Nigerians prepare to go to the polls this Saturday, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed confidence that with prayers, there will be hitch-free elections that will produce God-fearing leaders for the country.

The governor spoke at Ughelli, Ughelli North local government area of the state during a prayer rally organised by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

"I thank the church for the roles it is playing these four years and I want to publicly, appreciate CAN for their prayers which gave us peace in our state; what can we do without God?

I am Governor today because God has willed it to be so and I thank the church for the prayers," the governor said, adding, "as we move into the elections, it is time for restoration, time to get deserved benefits as Nigerians, but, before the restoration, there is some work for the church to do, there is some work for our people to do - we must pray for our state and our nation because, no matter how powerful a man may be, there is always limitations but with God, there is no limit, there is nothing God cannot do."

He continued, "I am confident in the name of Jesus that what He says will be, will be and with prayers, God's directions, we will have peaceful elections and our nation will be healed when we have God-fearing people as our leaders."

"Nigeria deserves a healing, healing of the land but the power of the healing can only come from heaven and as Christians, we must come openly to God and ask God for the forgiveness of our sins and live righteous life; once we are properly connected to the Lord, Jesus there is nothing that will stop us; we must be ready to do what we ought to do and we must pray because, when we call on His name, He will come down mightily to deliver us," Governor Okowa stated.

He thanked CAN for organising the rally, assuring that in the next four years, he will continue to partner with CAN and all Deltans to deliver democratic dividends.

Chairman, CAN, Delta State chapter, Apostle Sylvanus Okorote thanked Okowa for attending the ceremony despite his tight schedule, stating, "in Delta State, we don't want violence, we don't want war, we don't want rigging of elections or anything that will undermine the peace in the state; the state is peaceful and this prayer rally is important because, it is only God that can give peace; if elections are manipulated, crisis is bound to occur; those seeking offices should play by the rules, in this elections, there shall be no thuggery; we say no to election violence, thuggery, killing."

Immediate past Chairman of CAN in the state, Rev. Gideon Oyibo in a sermon, stated that Holy Bible made it clear that, "ancient landmark is about equity and no one wants to be cheated; there is zoning of the governorship office between the three senatorial districts in Delta State and for the purpose of peaceful coexistence, unity, let Delta North complete two terms; this is the ancient landmark we have been working on, peaceful coexistence, justice, equity and fairness."

Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi also, spoke on the topic, when the righteous are on the throne, the people rejoice and urged Deltans not be intimidated, saying, "don't allow anybody to intimidate you, we are here to endorse the candidature of Governor Okowa, he must return to Government House, Asaba because, righteousness exalts a nation and with Governor Okowa, we are happy, we are the righteous."

At the well attended rally, prayers were offered for peaceful, free, fair, transparent elections and peace in Delta State before, during and after the elections.

Prayers were also, offered for Governor Okowa, Delta State and the country.

Chelsea actually lost the game by 6 goals to nil on the 6th Sunday of the year, 6days to the Nigeria Presidential election only to end up 6th in league.

Guardiola on Sarri's situation at Chelsea: "People don't understand how difficult it is to do something. People expect a manager to arrive, or to buy players and immediately it comes. It needs time."

MANCHESTER CITY 6-0 CHELSEA:

DAVID MCDONNELL WATCHES THE CHAMPIONS LAY WASTE TO CHELSEA

Gary Neville has called on Chelsea chiefs to stand by Maurizio Sarri and not sack the under-fire Italian.

The 60-year-old's future at Stamford Bridge is under further scrutiny after Sunday’s humiliating defeat to Manchester City .

Having collapsed in their last away game at Bournemouth, falling to a 4-0 defeat, the Blues found themselves four down just 25 minutes in at the Etihad, before eventually falling to a 6-0 reverse.

The result - and Sarri’s subsequent post-match comments - appear to have pushed the under-fire boss closer to the exit.

Chelsea have failed to score in four away games in 2018, and have fallen to sixth in the Premier League.

Maurizio Sarri aims thinly-veiled dig at Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich

Sarri admitted post-game that he is under pressure, with ‘Sarriball’ having failed to really take hold at the west London club.

The ex-Napoli boss was hired last summer not just to challenge for trophies - like predecessor Antonio Conte - but also to oversee a change in style, with owner Roman Abramovich craving more expansive, attacking play from his side.

And now former Manchester United defender Neville - working for Sky Sports at the game - says that if that really is what Abramovich desires, then he needs to back his current manager.

Antonio Conte's 2018 comments about playing Man City come back to haunt Maurizio Sarri
"If the ownership of the club really does want a higher quality of football then they're going to have to live through the change.

"Now's not the time to go weak on that. Now what we'll see in the next 24 to48 hours whether Chelsea have the belief that they do want to follow through with it.

"In the past, I agree, they've changed [Andre] Villas-Boas, they've changed [Luiz Felipe] Scolari. Are they going to stick with Sarri?

"If they really want this type of football in the long term they're going to have to maintain a position of the club and live through the pain and change.”
