Arrividerci Italia! The Sorento, and Amalfi Coast exceeded all of my expectations. There is so much to see and do, it’s a shame we were only here for three nights. .
Want to visit Sorrento/Positano/Capri? Some tips for anyone considering visiting the area:
1. Sorrento is a great home base! Ferries between Sorrento and Positano/Amalfi/Capri run almost every hour. Day trips to other towns are doable.
2. Book ahead of time/close to the Port of Sorrento. Sorrento itself is a very walkable town. However, the port of Sorrento is a hike (crazy incline) from the city itself. Carrying 2 suitcases and a backpack up 1,200ft of steps was a challenge...
3. Speaking of steps, decide whether or not you want to use a car service. Sorrento is easily accessible by ferry. However, we arrived via train direct from Rome. Used the metro, and walked around Naples for a while before figuring out where the ferry was. Again, with bags it was quite the challenge. A car service costs around $100 and more convenient.
4. Spend a few days in Capri/Positano/Amalfi. Since we were limited on days in Italy, we decided to take day trips. Although we got to see a decent amount in Capri and Positano, you’ll definitely need a few days to really get to enjoy everything these beautiful places have to offer.
5. Be prepared to eat! Many restaurants have stunning views and open well close to midnight. Every local red wine I had was fantastic.
6. Lastly, many of the beaches are rocky. Doesn’t hurt to bring a decent sandal, or rubber shoes (crocs? 😅) when visiting these places. And of course, be prepared to walk. All the up and downs on the mountainside calls for a good workout.
That being said, it’s off to Portugal! Looking forward to our friends’ wedding and seeing family. See ya then 👋🏻

I really wish I could put into words what it’s like to fly a passenger jet. To cruise at 32,000ft, surrounded by towering thunderstorms and gently flying around them. The sense of calm looking out the window at a setting sun. It’s an addiction I’m always chasing. Sure, we have our bad days and sometimes it does feel like a job. But you don’t realize how much you miss something, until it’s gone.
What gives you purpose? Is it raising a family? Buying a home? Running a business? Or finishing your studies? For me, it’s flying. And if this pandemic has taught me anything, it’s to not take that for granted. Find what you’re passionate about, and work on it everyday. You won’t regret it. Sorry for the sappy post, I’m just happy to be back! What are some things you guys are passionate about? What gives you purpose?

Today marks a full year at my airline ✈️ Incredibly privileged and honored to be a part of this team. Looking forward to what’s to come. And to those who have helped me get here along the way, couldn’t have done it without y’all! Give your dreams a chance, you’ll be surprised what you can achieve. Keep climbing 🔺💙

Occasionally, on a walk around, I’ll stand back and think…wait, this is insane. They let me fly this thing?! That’s craaaaaaazy! Then it’s back to the flight deck and right back to work…

Anybody else get like that? I’m out here getting emotional for no reason. Just appreciative I guess.

For those going through training and things get hard, just remember…one day you’ll be doing a walk around all while thinking, “I get to fly this thing? That’s craaaaazy!” 😂
