Mountain Biking Vancouver Island - 5 days of World Class Single Track

These are my people - Team Yeti are the brothers and sisters that make my world go round, that help fuel my creative juices. This was one of the most memorable adventures I've ever been a part of. Every day, I felt like I was way too tired to pull the camera out (even if it only meant stopping to take my phone out of my pocket, which is how a lot of this was filmed...) - but being able to look back on this trip with the people that mean the most to me, makes it all worth it.

This is an account of a trip that was a long time coming - the gentlemen of Team Yeti finally got our act together and put together 5 days of riding, followi...

2017 Yeti AGM

I'm making it my mission these days to dig "old" footage out of the vaults and actually turn it into something, rather than let it fade into oblivion, never to see the light of day... Here's some highlights from the Yeti AGM last November.
*Spoiler alert - we moved a lot of logs by hand*

Each year, Team Yeti gets together at the Family Estate to do... things. No two years are the same; but camaraderie, shenanigans, and adventure planning are ...

Our Honeymoon Roadtrip in Baja Mexico

A little video of our recent honeymoon down to Baja Mexico. While I didn't go down there to shoot a video, I managed to capture enough moments to put together a nice little story. Hope you enjoy it :)

After waiting nearly 10 years to get married, then another year to finally go on a honeymoon, we rented a car and set off on what would be one of the most me...

Vancouver Island - A Summer in Time Lapse

Some might say it's a bit late to still be reflecting on 2017. For me, 2017 was a catalyst for some big changes in my life, and I had some amazing adventures on this incredible island that I get to call home. This video is but a fraction of the overall experience of visiting a few of the amazing and wild locations that we have in our backyard. The best part? There's still SO much out there I haven't discovered yet...

Just a few of the beautiful places on Vancouver Island that I was fortunate enough to visit in 2017. I guess I had a pretty good summer :) Locations shot: -L...

Winter Mountain Biking - Hornby Island, BC

Although my riding partner couldn't make it, Zita and I had a blast riding some snowy lines up at Hornby Island last weekend. Perhaps unsurprisingly, mine were the only tire tracks out there...

Vancouver Island is generally a pretty snow-free place to live, and you can usually mountain bike here year round. But sometimes Mother Nature doesn't play n...

winter - a GH4 short film

A Dog's Life in 4k - a GH4 Film

My first effort shooting in 4k with the Lumix GH4. It has a steeper learning curve than my old Nikon, but it's a powerhouse by comparison. Oh, and of course the video is about my amazing dog Zita ;)

Vlog with a Dog - Francis/King Park, Victoria BC

Last week Zita and I went to check out Francis/King Park in Victoria, BC, and shot a little Dog Vlog while we were there. This might end up being my last video ever shot with the Nikon D3400.

*Spoiler* - next week’s Dog Vlog will be in 4k… 😬

Vlog With a Dog - Mt Doug, Victoria BC

I’ve learned that I need to spend a lot of time out in nature, otherwise I literally go crazy. I also want to practice speaking on camera. So I decided to combine these two things by starting a project called “Vlog with a Dog”.

With my intrepid Adventure Dog at my side, I’m going to show you around some of the amazing, natural (dog friendly) places we have here in Victoria, with the hope of showcasing their awesomeness and emphasizing the importance of spending time outside.

My mantra for this series will be “done is better than perfect”. It won’t be winning any awards for brilliance in editing, and here’s why: most of us have a habit of trying to perfect something before we let the world see it. In most cases, that means it never sees the light of day. I think it’s good to let the world see that we’re not perfect, to embrace our flaws and put our best foot forward without fear of judgment.

So, after much preamble, here’s the “pilot episode” of Vlog With a Dog. This is a new and experimental format, and it will likely change and evolve over time. My goal is to show you a new location every week, so be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel so you don’t miss anything.
