Natural Horsemanship There they blindfolded the Horse, Saddled it and climbed into the saddle. That really had to hurt AND only means that you’ve ridden the horse once! LOTS of Work.

What the Heck is " Natural Horsemanship" ...

" Why would a person take a perfectly good webbing halter off of a horse and put a skinny piece of rope tied to look like a Halter on the horse and expect to "Keep Control" of the animal?"

“Sounds like some sort of Gimmick or a Fad "

“That's not the way they did it in the Old Cowboy movies. …”

BREAKING a Horse “The Old Way” meant that most tim

es training wasn't started until a horse was between two and three years old. When the blindfold was removed they were either thrown or they stayed in the saddle until they had ridden that horse. Who knows what will happen the next time that you try to ride… That same horse could bite you, kick you, run right over you OR Hurt Itself. One "clinician" explained on his weekly Television Presentation that the
C**t he was working with had been "imprinted" and NOW, that it was a
YEAR Old ….. it was time to put a Halter on it - for the First Time! It took Three of them to put that Halter on the C**t, after they pinned it against the side of the Round Pen. It was probably a good thing that the C**t had been "Imprinted". A few of the "Old Timers" watched the way horses interacted and developed better and easier ways to train horses.... Easier on both You and the Horse. Development of “ Natural Horsemanship “ Training started with Horsemen like Ray Hunt, Tom and Bob Dorrance, and Al Dunning. Most of the Trainers that you see at Clinics demonstrating Natural Horsemanship learned from one or more of these "Masters". Desensitizing, Respect and Trust are important factors in Natural Horsemanship training and then everything else comes with a work ….. We have met a Number of the Nationally known Trainers and use the Methods taught by several of them in our Training. Each Trainer has their own means to accomplish an Objective and sometimes one method will work better than another ….. It's always good to have a "Bag full of Tricks". BUT we do not recommend a Trainer or Method of Training over another.... even though we have our Favorites. We believe in Natural Horsemanship Training with our animals. Our Animals ARE Imprinted and have a Rope Halter Put On and Taken Off from the Day they are Born. Then “Ground Schooling” soon follows

Of Course, We don’t have ALL of the answers –

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota.
It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.

Tens of thousands of gallons per second of the Yellowstone River plummet over 300 feet, smashing against rocks and the river bottom, forming a giant cloud of mist. On sunny summer cloudless mornings, at a particularly magical moment, that cloud transforms into a rainbow. Like so many things in nature, it’s a fleeting moment, lasting for a few minutes at best. ✨🌈✨

An old tired-looking dog wanders into a guy's yard. He examines the dog's collar and feels his well-fed belly and knows the dog has a home.
The dog follows him into the house, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep. The man thinks its rather odd, but lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
The next day the dog comes back and scratches at the door. The guy opens the door, the dog comes in, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep again. The man lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
This goes on for days. The guy grows really curious, so he pins a note on the dog's collar: "Your dog has been taking a nap at my house every day."
The next day the dog arrives with another note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with four children -- he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?' 😊
