In 1952, public law 82-324, sec 119 was passed stating that "the President shall set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than Sunday, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals." In 1988, the first Thursday in May each year was designated the National Day of Prayer.

The Bible says ๐Ÿ“–, "I urge, then, first of all that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior." 1 Timothy 2:1-3

On this National Day of Prayer, we are praying for our country, for our leaders in authority and for all people everywhere. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™

That's a wrap, guys! It is the last day of what has been a roller coaster of a year.

There have been a lot of lows this year and so many painful moments, but there have also been many highs! We are so thankful for every one of you and how you support us!

We have had the chance to work with some amazing brands and magazines, and we have made so many new friendships!

While it would be customary to make some epic New Year resolutions, we think that for this year, we're going to just take it one day at a time and see where the Lord leads us.

Thanks to everyone who made this crazy year a little bit brighter!

See you next year!

Happy Gotcha Day, Amazing Grace! I know it's a day late, as we brought her home the day after Christmas. But I can't believe it's been 9 years!

I was 17, and Amazing Grace was 12 when the Lord brought us together. What I asked for was completely different, but I am so glad He gave her to me. She was an answer to many prayers and was exactly what I needed.

The first horse is always one of the most special relationships any horse girl can have. Cherish them for as long as you can! Amazing Grace, I am so glad to be your human!

Swipe to see us for our first day together 9 years ago.

In memory of Sarge. 2011 - 2023

I can't put it into words how much I really loved this dog. But this audio fits how I felt about him and still feel about him.

No matter how old he got, I loved him with all my heart. If I could have kept him here with me forever, I would have.

Guys, please don't stop loving your dog just because they are old and can't do what they used to. Cherish every moment they are on this earth because one day they aren't going to be here.

Goodbye, my sweet, sweet Sarge. I'll see you in the land where there is no pain and no sorrow.

I love you.

I am devastated.

Yesterday evening I said goodbye to my best friend. My soulmate. Crushed doesn't even begin to explain what I am feeling right now. There are not enough words in the vocabulary to even describe it.

I will put together a tribute video for him in a little bit, but for now, I simply need to process these raw emotions I am feeling.

Rest easy Sarge. I love you and I always will.

When Sarah Harris received a horse for her eighth birthday, she and her older sister Emily, then 14, were immediately smitten with the bay mare, Allie. The girls had been asking for a horse since each of them could speak. One of Sarahโ€™s first words was โ€œhoy-hoy,โ€ her own baby babble for โ€œhor...

THE COLOSSEUM--So y'all may have noticed one of our latest building projects in the video of Brego (the one where Sarah was trying to steal him!) We had taken a little break from our training schedule with our mustangs because we were super busy with DIY building projects. Building a 60' wooden round pen along with a chute was one of those projects because our old pipe panel round pen had seen its last days. We had bought it about 6 years ago and it didn't hold up as different horses kept destroying the panels (in one way or the other). It had also gotten rusty. So we decided to build a training space that was tall enough and hopefully sturdy enough to work in.

The round pen is 8' tall for those times when things get a little "INTERESTING" in the training sessions. We even have a name for our round pen. We call it the "Colosseum" ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

SARAH IS TRYING TO STEAL MY HORSE Y'ALL! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ LISTEN TO HER IN THIS VIDEO! ๐Ÿ‘‚

So, I worked with Brego, my 15.3h Devil's Garden mustang, in the round pen for the first time, and y'all I couldn't have been happier with this horse!

I'll be honest, I kinda forgot what he looked like moving out and trotting. Brego rarely ever moves beyond a walk even when he is spooking, so to say I was surprised with his movement would be an understatement. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!

You can even hear how surprised Sarah was too and in all fairness to her, although she admits to possibly stealing him, she was the one who talked me into getting him. BUT he is ALL MINE. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ’œ

I totally LOVE this HEART-TOUCHING highlight of Ruth greeting her audience ๐Ÿค during the training demo at the BLM Wild Horse & B***o Adoption Event in Raleigh, NC!

Not only is it special when you get first touches on a wild horse but it is equally special when a PERSON GETS THEIR FIRST TOUCH BY A HORSE! ๐Ÿ’–

The lady watching the demo was from a local newspaper and she was asking me questions about working with mustangs when Ruth, who had less than thirty minutes prior to this had not been touched, walked over and sniffed her hand.

THE EXPRESSION ON THIS LADY'S FACE IS PRICELESS! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿดโค๏ธ

FIRST TOUCHES! ๐Ÿซณ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿซณ๐Ÿพ Remember this sweet little 2-year-old filly that I called "Ruth" from the training demos at the Wild Horse & B***o Adoption event in Raleigh, NC that was GENTLED IN AN HOUR?? โฑ

Here is a continuation of the training demo with FIRST TOUCHES on her. This is where she found out that scratches from human hands are irresistIble! ๐Ÿคค

She melted in my hands and tried to return the favor and give me scratches back, lol ๐Ÿ˜…

06/09/2023

Okay y'all, here are some pictures from the Equine Trail Sports competition that we had the opportunity to judge! It was a really great event with wonderful participants and we totally enjoyed our time there!

If you are unfamiliar with these events, there are multiple types of ETS competitions: Trail Challenge (TC) that's 5 to 10 miles long with a minimum of 6 obstacles, Obstacle Trail (OT) that's 2-4 miles long with a minimum of 8 obstacles, Obstacle Course (OC) that's up to a mile long with a minimum of 8 obstacles, In Hand (IH) has a minimum of 8 obstacles, and Recreational Ride (RR) is like an organized trail ride.

The Trail Challenge and Obstacle Trail competitions allow only one horse per rider. This allows for the competition to move in a timely manner. The Obstacle Course and In Hand competitions allow multiple horses per rider as long as they don't interrupt the flow of the show.

There are 3 levels of difficulty to choose from at each obstacle - Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. But the best part about this is that you can tailor your experience however you want! You are not limited to staying in just one level. You can mix and match between the levels as you see fit. So, if you choose Novice for one obstacle but then decide you want to try Advanced for the next obstacle, you are free to do so!

Scores are given to both the rider and horse. You can accumulate 20 points total for each obstacle, 10 points for the horse, and the other 10 for the rider. The obstacles are not timed, which means you are scored solely on the performance/completion of each obstacle.

So you see, ETS is a truly flexible competition that gives you plenty of options! And if you have a young or inexperienced horse that you want to put miles on, it makes a great first competition for both horse and rider! ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™

Sooo y'all, in more Sisters Horsing Around news, this past Saturday we had the privilege to spend the day as judges for an Equine Trail Sports competition in Salem, VA. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Equine Trail Sports (ETS) is a competition that combines the recreational fun of trail riding with the challenge of navigating lots of different obstacles in a family-friendly event that is open to all breeds of horses, donkeys and mules.

We want to give a hat-tip ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿค  and huge applause ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ to Mrs. Melissa Downs for her incredible work in putting on and hosting the show. Thank you so much for the opportunity to come judge this event! To the show staff, we admire your diligent work to take care of everything. And to the riders, we loved the sportsmanship, horsemanship, camaraderie, and positive attitudes that we saw demonstrated. It was both refreshing and exciting to see and we totally enjoyed our time with you all!

Check out these highlights from the event! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’™

(BTW, I caught Sarah off guard right before the judges' pre-competition meeting in the beginning of the video when I said, "Hey let's do an intro really quick!" The look on her face! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Y'all, I was SUPER EXCITED to meet fellow Mustang trainer and YouTuber, Britta aka The Project Equestrian at the BLM Wild Horse & B***o Adoption Event in Raleigh, NC! I had been following Britta on YouTube and had watched her videos, (even picked up some ideas too ๐Ÿ˜‰). It was a real fan girl moment to be able to meet her in person AND it was an absolute HONOR to be interviewed by her! I had lots of fun chatting and laughing with her, as well as discussing one of my favorite topics-MUSTANGS!

Be sure to check out The Project Equestrian video of our interview on youtube!

BTW, I was so blown away to learn that Britta used to live in our neck of the woods! WHAT A SMALL WORLD! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’œ

Y'ALL HERE IS A VIDEO YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

This is one of the MOST SPECIAL highlights from the BLM Wild Horse and B***o Adoption event in Raleigh, NC. There was SO MUCH that happened in this session. This is from DAY 3, THE FINAL DAY and there are several videos to go along with this one that you will also not want to miss.

I am super excited to introduce to you this 2-year-old sorrel filly from Salt Wells, WY that was gentled in an hour, AN HOUR Y'ALL with first touches, grooming, haltering and tag removal!! She was such a sweet, confident, and intelligent little horse. I fell in love with her right on the spot and I totally would have brought her home if I could. ๐Ÿ˜

I named this sweet horse "Ruth" from the Bible because she joined up with me so much so that she started following me around the pen and she started going from person to person saying "hi" and asking for scratches. It was like she was saying, "Where you go, I'll go... and your people will be my people." Ruth 1:16

BTW, it was so funny because it seemed like this happened so quick that a gentleman came by and was like, "We need a rewind. I missed everything." ๐Ÿ˜‚

This video is part 1 of Ruth ๐Ÿ’œ

MORE HIGHLIGHTS from DAY 2 of the Training Demos at the BLM Wild Horse & B***o Adoption Event in Raleigh, NC. This is Tag #7869 a 5-year-old black gelding. He was an internet adoption and his adopter was there to pick him up. His adopter had already chosen the name "Reaper" for him. He was a very handsome horse.

HIGHLIGHTS from Day 2 of the training demos at the BLM Wild Horse & B***o Event in Raleigh, NC. This is Tag #4114 that I called "Bullseye" ๐ŸŽฏ because of the little star on his forehead and because he reminded me of Woody's horse on Toy Story. ๐Ÿค
