The Town of Brookhaven Department of Public Safety is hiring Part-Time Dispatchers with a new increased salary.

Today in Manorville, the Notaro’s opened their home to us for this press conference, spearheaded by the Suffolk County Water Authority, to announce the completion of the extension of the public water main for 116 properties on private wells. Most of these wells had elevated levels of contamination due to PFAs, PFOAs and other contaminants.

Through a partnership between the federal, state and Town of Brookhaven, the SCWA was able to extend the main and offered connections to all residents free of charge. While 75% of those eligible have connected, we are hopeful that through education and outreach that the remaining 25% will hook up.

Thank you to everyone who worked together and made this 7 million dollar project happen, especially the local residents and clean water advocates. The Town of Brookhaven contributed 2 million dollars toward the project that needed funding because we care about our residents and want to insure that they have clean water - with Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio and Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine.
