7:30 p.m. FRIDAY UPDATE: Gold Line service has been suspended due to inclement weather conditions. A bus bridge has been implemented between Sunnyside and French Street Stations. Freezing rain and sleet continues across the CATS service area. Please consider avoiding travel unless necessary. Blue line and bus operations remain active, but expect delays due to road conditions.

3:30 p.m. FRIDAY UPDATE: Light snow has started to fall across the CATS service area. We are reporting no delays related to weather. We ask passengers to please use caution throughout the evening while boarding and offloading bus and trains. Gold Line service is still scheduled to be suspended at 8 p.m. A bus bridge will be in place to supplement service.

❄️ CATS will provide free rides to warming shelters in Mecklenburg County. Notify your operator which shelter you are going to along the route when you board.

❄️ Gold Line services will be suspended with a bus bridge in place, beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, January 10.

❄️ Blue Line and bus services will continue as scheduled with potential delays, depending on conditions.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools families, due to a winter storm predicted for North Carolina and Mecklenburg County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will implement a full day of remote learning on Friday, January 10, 2025. Schools will be closed for teaching and learning.

The full day of remote learning will include asynchronous instruction only, which means students will have assignments that they will take home on Thursday, January 9 that they will need to complete independently and turn in on Monday, January 13. Students will not need to log on to their devices to meet with teachers or experience live instruction on Friday.

The school closure on Friday means there will be no ASEP, no after school programs or athletic events. Athletic events originally scheduled for Friday evening have been rescheduled for Thursday evening. Athletic events originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11 will be rescheduled for Monday, January 13.

Please stay safe during this winter weather event. We look forward to seeing students back in the classrooms on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Providence Road West recently donated more than 75 items to benefit children at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital.
Students collected toys and books over the past several weeks to help brighten the days of children staying at the hospital.

• Transportation, Planning & Development: Receives update on community area planning and UDO text amendments (10 a.m.)
• Jobs & Economic Development: Talks about ongoing initiatives like Corridors of Opportunity and office vacancies as well as strategic plans related to small business and workforce development. (noon)
• Housing, Safety & Community: Discuss ways to strengthen the housing code to ensure safe lodging and multi-family dwellings. (4 p.m.)
• City Council: Review committee work and get update on a quality of life approach to public safety. (6 p.m.)
