Easily spotted by her million-watt smile, Anit Maria Joseph is a passionate multitasker at the core. From ticking off a billion things she has on her plate without losing her calm to randomly bursting out into a Kuhad and Mumford and sons playlist, she is always ready to lend an ear to all your rants. She would be your sunshine on a gloomy day, with her charismatic voice and ukulele. Don’t be surprised if she leaves you spellbound with her dedication and hard work. If you get her for help, thank your stars because the faults in them will vanish soon.

Presenting our department President, Anit Maria Joseph!

Gowri is the right mix of intellect, beauty and charm. She is the jack of all trades - from impromptu singing sessions and intensive academic discussions to spearheading MUNs and debates, she can do it all with the same burst of energy!
Known for her quick wit, snappy comebacks and intellectual spin of words, Gowri handles every situation with empathy and passion. Her strong demeanour and bright ideas (just like her name) makes her not just a proficient leader, but also someone you can run to in the middle of the day for some free venting and great advice!

She keeps pushing herself against all odds and is resolute in putting forward her stances loud and clear.
If there was a quote that could sum her up well, it would be, “the finest steel goes through the hottest fire”. And that's what makes her unmatched. :’)

Side note - try impressing her with graphic fiction references, lots of cold coffee, and indie/country music. Flooding her inbox with random memes and cute Timothee Chalamet edits might also work 😉

Always being at the top of her game with a pinch of humorous disposition in everything she does, Mukta is an absolute charmer. If Mukta were to be described as a fictional character, she would be the one who carries the warmth and love like Charles Boyle, as loyal and dedicated as Dwight Schrute and extremely smart similar to Sheldon Cooper. She is a blend of passion and perfection and that’s what makes her the adorable person she is. It just takes a simple act of love to melt her and that’s how effortlessly gorgeous she is at heart. Her diligent and oozing personality indeed makes her the sunshine on any day.

If diligence and humour had a love-child, they would be pretty close to what Ishika represents - not just in personality but also in work ethic. A lover of fiction and a connoisseur of tales - Ishika believes in the power of media and pop culture to transform new age activism; and makes sure to source stories that represent courage, equality, hope and a diversity of thought.

If these aren't reasons enough to appreciate her skills in creative communication - Ishika is, at the end of the day, just another passionate student of Sociology, who can spend hours dishing out interesting quips about social media and digital rights, how a Netflix series can be read as an eco-feminist fable, or even how the hottest make-up trends on Instagram stand for a radical un-gendering of beauty. With her, there's no chance of any conversation that doesn't finely balance intellect, hilarity and sarcasm - all in one.

Presenting the Editor of Lighthouse, Ishika Roy!

Based on Shreya’s chemistry text book, she breathes 78 percent of nitrogen and 21 percent of Netflix. Although as much of a foodie as she is, she’s a big no-no for coffees and milkshakes. She’d appreciate if you brought her a sandwich instead.

She likes spending time with herself and indulges in reading Instruments that record, analyse, summarise, organise, debate and explain information; that are illustrated, non-illustrated, hardbound, paperback…blah blah..basically books.

As mentioned before, She enjoys watching movies during her free time and likes experimenting with her choices, because truth be told, she has exhausted every action and George Clooney film on OTT platforms.

Shreya is determined and makes sure to fully commit to her work and her goals. She cares about the people around her and always keeps their best interest in heart, except when it comes to sharing a large McD Fries, Joey gave up too.

To conclude, she is one of the humblest and nicest souls you’ll come across. She’ll never waste a second to think when it comes to helping and being with those in need, because Positivity is not her preference, but principle.♥️

Gopika is a true crime fanatic with zero appointments at the the therapists office, yet (The future is unknown)

She thrives on music (these are serious waters we are swimming through) Lee Min ho is her Sarangae (you can note this down right now)

She also loves history, especially visiting historical sites (you can find her hiding in a museum. Better, dont find her)

You might’ve heard them say, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”, but here’s to a woman who’d churn a feast out of it. She is not just someone who would stare down adversities without batting an eye, but she’d also be the one to hold your hand through your storm.

Aparna wields the pen and the brush alike. To her, the parchment and the canvas are but two everlasting friends - her poetries will tingle your ears as much as her paintings will your eyes. Her voice resounds through her craft and her values through her tales. And, it doesn’t end there - give her a mic and be pleased, for be it a statement or a story, she’s mastered the trade. If one were to describe her in a few words - adjectives would run on an endless spree, but, a failed attempt to put her in a couple of sentences might go along these lines:

A picky aesthete with art in her fingertips and a twinkle in her eyes - she craves nothing more than a good old serving of hot gulab jamun and a shy smile from Chris Evans (wink, wink!). She shares an equal romance with theories in sociology and savoury bites of her much-beloved burgers - get her one and you earn a friend for a lifetime!

Presenting our Creative and PR Head for this year, Aparna S Rajiv!

A 'self-proclaimed amoeba' Rini is as adaptable and multi-faceted as their soul animal(?). This Lil amoeba who towers over most folks with their 5 feet 10 inches of exuberance, can be best described as a kaleidoscope; vibrant, creative and brilliant... Ensuring you can never miss their bright smile even in a crowded room.

Knowing Rini is an adventure in itself. Conversations will flow from food, cricket, music, cinema, politics, art and reflections on the cosmos. They are a free-spirit with the biggest heart who rejects shrinking into labels, and their authenticity is only of their many striking features. It's never a grey moment around this rainbow-like human. Once you're past being dazzled by their aesthetic pizzazz be prepared to uncover a total nerd for history, culture, psychology, and all things sociology. An activist at heart, Rini cares for the world and everyone in it, with a fierce conviction and strength of character. Even while juggling various professional responsibilities, one can always count on Rini to be present for them; they are a compassionate friend, dependable team member, and enthusiastic learner. They are bold and always up for new challenges, even high-stress situations have nothing on them. Most importantly, one doesn't have to worry about the nitty-gritty while organising or planning events because Rini is a troubleshooter and show-stealer all at once; always there to save the day.

Their leisurely musings often revolve around embracing life's complexities within metaphors, finding expression in their arresting and penetrating art. Happily skipping along on a journey of learning, endless curiosity and integrity to their responsibilities, Rini's passion and humility is inspiring. They are one of the most imaginative, devoted and resourceful people you will have the good fortune of working with. Rini may appear quiet and reserved, listening attentively to someone's ideas and concerns but their calm exterior belies the complexity of their inner world, they are intensely loyal to their peers and hold a nurturing drive to help others.
Always speaking their mind while ever-present to listen and assist, Rini with a natural flair adds a fresh spark to any project with their can-do attitude and their ability to see good in everything and everyone. Want to make Rini’s day better? Serve her copious amounts of coffee with a good movie and rain on the side. Oh also, beware! Their winks and finger guns are sure to steal your hearts!

Presenting this year’s acting General Secretary, Rini!
