Run like a girl!!!
"My coach said I ran like a girl, I said if he could run a little faster he could too." -- Mia Hamm
Soccer star Mia Hamm is considered one of the best soccer players in history having scored 158 international goals during her career – more than any other player, male or female, until Abby Wambach broke her record last year. Over the duration of her professional soccer career, Hamm won two World Cup titles, two Olympic gold medals, and was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. In 2004, she was one of only two women and two Americans named to the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 greatest living soccer players selected by soccer legend Pelé.
Hamm wrote a wonderful picture book "Winners Never Quit" for ages 4 to 7 (http://www.amightygirl.com/winners-never-quit) and the bestselling guide “Go For the Goal: A Champion's Guide To Winning In Soccer And Life” for ages 12 and up (http://www.amightygirl.com/go-for-the-goal).
Hamm also stars in the excellent documentary, “The World at Their Feet - The Legendary Story of the U.S. Women's Soccer Team,” about the team’s four World Cups and three Olympic games for ages 8 and up: http://www.amightygirl.com/the-world-at-their-feet
