LUANSHYA BASED MINING COMPANY COMMENCES FEASIBILITY STUDIES

Tuesday February 14, 2023

CHINA Non Ferrous Mining Company (CMNC) China Luanshya Mine on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia has commenced feasibility studies on it's 28 shaft mine.

CMNC China Luanshya Mine spokesperson Sydney Chileya disclosed this in an exclusive interview in Luanshya Zambia.

"The feasibility is looking at the viability of the mineral resource, the time required to pump out the water and the lifespan of the shaft," Chileya said.

He further explained that the figures of how many jobs are going to be created at the shaft, are only going to be determined once the feasibility study is completed.

Chileya said the Chinese owned mining firm has since written to the Zambian government through the ministry of labour over the companies activities on 28shaft mine.

Some Zambian political players and residents within which 28 shaft mine is allocated have been calling on the recent past Zambian regimes to ensure that the shaft was operationalised for more job creation in the district and subsequently the Copperbelt Province of Zambia.

Currently China Non Ferrous Mining Company (CMNC) employees about 1 600 local people.

Meanwhile,Roan Constituency Member of Parliament in whose area the mine is located Joel Chibuye expressed hope that once the feasibility study is completed and the mine opened more jobs would be created for Roan Constituents.
"This is is good news it gives hope to the people of Roan that more jobs would be created by the mine." He said.

The Roan law maker appealed to residents in his area and wait patiently as the Chinese mine carry out the feasibility study on 28 shaft mine.

KWACHA TO GAIN FURTHER

Lusaka ~ Fri, 23 Jul 2021

By Brightwell Chabusha

The kwacha has been appreciating for four (4) straight days and now trading around K22.21 from K22.86 just last week.

On Tuesday, the kwacha made a huge gain to trade at around K22.54 from K22.86, then K22.49 on Wednesday and K22.21 on Thursday.

“The appreciation of the Zambian kwacha is due to improved dollar supply and the positive outlook in terms of forex reserves. Mining activities have increased resulting in increased forex inflows,” Economics Association of Zambia president Dr Lubinda Haabazoka has explained. “The country is also exporting agricultural produce after another good harvest. Also expected is an injection of $1.4bn through SDRS into our reserves as countries share $650bn free SDR allocations amid the IMF’s plans of enhancing global liquidity.”

The $1.4bn forex injection through SDRS will push our reserves to over $3.1bn by end of August, he said.

”Those hoarding the dollar should start selling now. Commodity prices are expected to start reducing with increase in kwacha value,” Dr Haabazoka said.

30 LIFE LESSONS TO LEARN BEFORE AGE 30!!!!

Young people (13-30) please gather here. Stop sharing memes, stop scrolling, get your pen and paper and come and learn/unlearn.

1. The stretch between the age 20-30 is very critical. Use your twenties to build your life. Be careful of these three things, for they change your future forever: Friendships, S*xual Relationships, Habits.

2. Be a student. I don't mean inside a classroom. Keep asking. Keep knocking. Keep questioning. Read. Find a mentor. Be coachable. Question your philosophy of life often and find things to change. Keep learning. Keep unlearning. Keep a journal and jot down life lessons as you go.

3. Your friends at 20, may not be your friends at age 30. Your boyfriend at 15 may not be your life partner. Life has a funny way of shifting things around. People evolve. You will keep changing as you grow. Don't make permanent commitments with temporary people. Learn to let go. Allow life to make those adjustments.

4. Go to work to work. If you make friendships at work, great but more often than not the friendships at work may not last after you leave work. Don't attach to a company, organization, role. Explore and be okey with starting afresh.

5. If you can delay making babies, please do so.

6. Take opportunities. At 20, 25, 30 you don't have much to lose. If you fail, take the lesson. Don't be scared to try. The opinions don't matter.

7. Learn to communicate. In your own language, and in English. Write in full, try to construct proper sentences. Dot your Is and Cross your Ts. Learn and master your elevator pitch (who are you, what do you do, and what do you hope to achieve).

8. Learn how to effectively use social media. It's important to understand how social media works if you want to stay relevant in this age.

9. Learn to save. Save at least 30% of your income.

10. Become valuable. Learn a new skill. Learn a new language. Learn. The money will follow your value.

11. Speak up. There is no need to shrink. The only way to grow your confidence is to speak up.

12. Work hard and make no excuses. Life rewards those that work hard.

13. Don't blame the government, it's pointless.

14. Comparison is the thief of joy. Practise gratitude and be content with what you have.

15. Honor your parents. They have been around long enough to know what works.

16. Be careful of the following: Drugs, S*x and Alcohol. A lot of lives have been ruined by these.

17. Every person you meet can teach you something. Always take the lesson.

18. Your health is your wealth. Holistic wealth includes physical, social, mental, spiritual and emotional.

19. Time is money. Always try to be punctual. Don't procrastinate. Recognize time wasters in your life and make the necessary adjustments.

20. Never fear criticism. Never fear being judged. Never fear failure. The only thing you should be afraid of is REGRET!

21. Not all arguments are necessary. Save your energy!

22. Start investing as soon as you can. Learn about compound interest and use time to make it work for you. This talks to your finances and habits.

23. Learn to manage your emotions. It's important!

24. Love yourself. It starts within not without. All the other forms of love are sweet bonuses, that you get to enjoy, receive and reciprocate after you learn to love yourself.

25. The internet does not forget. Be careful of what you publish online.

26. Choose your life partner carefully. It's critical who you marry.

27. Believe in a higher power, something above yourself. You sleep better at night knowing that where your strength ends, there is someone above you who takes care of it all.

28. Love the journey more than the destination. Be present in each moment. Appreciate your current achievements while you work for more.

29. Travel the world. Meet new people. Explore. Don't limit your reality of life to your present. Life is big.

30. You create the life you want, it doesn't just happen. Plan. Set goals. Be intentional. What you do or not do today will affect how you eventually turn out in life.

Lastly LIVE!!! No I don't mean YOLO, just live! Find interesting things about life and enjoy them. Enjoy moments with your loved ones, enjoy the sound of birds chirping. Enjoy nature. Laugh. Dress up. Enjoy your cup of coffee. Life is to be lived. Put your phone down and enjoy life.

Your big Sis,
Sibusisiwe Lukhele❤️

NTH'S SURGICAL ONCOLOGY AND GYNAECOLOGY TEAM ROMOVE 9.6KG TUMOUR FROM 33 YEAR OLD WOMAN

By Cornelius Kabwe and Stephanie K***a

THE Ndola Teaching Hospital (NTH) has carried out what is being called an extraordinary operation where a surgical team removed an abdominal tumor weighing 9.6 kilograms from a 33-year-old woman.

The eight hour long surgery is said to have been done using an open surgery where the entire stomach area had been cut open to remove the tumor which attached to the liver, the stomach, the splin and below.

The surgery is not a regular operation, but extensive, as it gives a patient a chance of cure through the operation.

NTH Surgical Oncologist Doctor Kazuma Seke said that he and his team had received a 33-year-old lady who was taken to the theatre because of an abdominal tumor which they thought was coming from the ovaries.

Dr Seke said a team from the gynecology section of the hospital consulted him on the patient and so when they opened the abdomen, they found that the tumor was filling the entire abdomen and so they consulted him as a counsel surgeon.

“So I found that the tumor was filling the entire abdomen, but it was a tumor that could be removed. It was attached to the liver, the stomach, the splin and below. So we removed the entire tumor and removed the last three quarters of the stomach and removed the splin as well,” he said.

He said that the team even removed the node tissue where the cancer cells travel as they spread to the entire body. Kid

“The tumor weighed 9.6 kilograms and we did reconstruction of the intestines so that she will be able to eat after the surgery. The patient has done well in theater and has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to recover,” he said.

Dr Seke said that it was common for women to have tumors in the abdomen because commonly they arised from the ovaries.

He said the surgery was an extraordinary one because it followed the principles of surgeries done for cancer.

Dr Seke said that the first principle of the surgery was that the tumor in its entirety should be removed as it also bordered on normal tissue.

Dr Seke said the second principle was that if the tumor was attached to any organ, like in this case it was attached to the stomach and that was why part of the stomach had to be removed.

“The stomach shares the same blood supply as the spleen and that was why it was also removed. The stomach also shares same blood supply as the veil of the abdomen so it has to be removed.
We also have to take care of the channels which cancer cells use to move around the body and these are the nodes which were also removed,” he said.

He added that the team was yet to determine the type of tumor after pathologists did assessments under a microscope.

The surgery was conducted by Dr Seke, Dr Chirengendure, Gynecologist Dr Jane Mumba-Lukama, Dr Borniface Kaela, Dr Kamukawamba Mwale, Dr Anadi Bulaya and Anthesia was provided by Dr Christian Bagayamukwe and Sister Beatrice Katoni.

PF TARGETS NKOMBO, MWEETWA, AMONG OTHERS OVER ONGOING DEFECTIONS

Thursday, April 8, 2021

Member of parliament for Mazabuka (UPND) Garry Nkombo and his Choma-Central colleague Cornelius Mweetwa are among the senior officials being eyed and in discussions on the possibility of defecting to the ruling PF.

But Mweetwa dismissed the assertions as social media entertainment to associate credibility with those who are leaving the party.

Well placed sources in the PF in collaboration with some in the UPND have told Daily Revelation that Nkombo and Mweetwa are among the officials being targeted by the ruling PF. The sources said several officials were not happy with the happenings in the opposition UPND, accusing their leader Hakainde Hichilema of bulldozing matters in what they term as undemocratic manner.

The sources said the main issue that has brought the most consternation is the decision by Hichilema to appoint Mutale Nalumango as the party’s vice-president, and the other appointments made in the National management committee.

Meet Comrade Margaret Sikalonzo

Twenty-four year old Comrade Margaret Sikalonzo, parliamentary candidate for Luanshya constituency, wants to see a transformed Zambia, starting with her own community.

“In Bemba we say, ‘akachila kambushi kasengula epokekele’,
meaning change must start where I am, within, and spread all around,” Sikalonzo said.

“I joined politics under the Sociality Party because of its core values pointing us to justice, equity, and peace, and for its accommodative nature inclusive of women and youth that allows us more space and a sense of belonging. I envision free and quality education, healthcare, and a Zambia where women will no longer have to walk long distances to access healthcare and give birth. Also a
Luanshya with proper roads and jobs for all, particularly young people.”

Sikalonzo attended Baluba basic and Luanshya girls’ secondary schools, going on to study for an ICT at Zambia College of Distance Education.
