The Blu-Ray release date of our documentary, HOB, will be March 20 which is the 25th anniversary of Hob Mason's passing. Help us celebrate the life of a tremendous jazz musician who called Clear Lake, Iowa home.

This documentary explores the life of renowned North Iowa pianist Hob Mason through the eyes of his daughter, son, and fellow musicians. Hob shared stages with the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Louie Bellson and was the 1998 North Iowa Band Festival Grand Marshall.

We are excited to announce that our short film Lex Talionis has been accepted to the Snake Alley Festival of Film in Burlington, Iowa. It will screen on Thu July 13 at the Capitol Theater during the 2pm block of films.

So much going on. As many of you know, Mike and I put the Cinematic Heartland podcast on a temporary hiatus while we work on our own creative projects. I’m currently working on post-production of our short film Lex Talionis, we are in pre-production on our feature film Until the Music Fades, and we have one more interview to wrap up for our documentary and then we’ll be in post with that as well. On top of all that, I am working on a horror novel, a children’s book, and a YA fantasy book series. And if you still haven’t heard enough from me, you can check out the latest episode of Jake Baker’s Clear Tinted Classics podcast where we discuss the mockumentary This is Spinal Tap. You can also see Mike, Frank, and I perform as a band again at the IMPA Awards on May 6 in Forest City. I’m not letting my health issues hold me back as challenging as that is right now and those issues definitely slow down the entire process but hopefully I will soon be feeling better.
