GEN M is founded by Spotify and Airbnb alums: Rayyan Islam, Rehan Azhar and Omar Hilmy, serial entrepreneurs from New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles who were tired of seeing the negativity that has plagued the web about Islam and Muslims, and wanted to do something about it. Through our content, we aim to unify people across borders, backgrounds, and cultures to cultivate a cohesive community
of Muslims, and in doing so, create a bridge that fosters greater awareness and understanding. At GEN M we tell stories about our changing world, for people who want to have a hand in changing it. Whether it’s a female Afghani tech CEO training the next generation of women entrepreneurs in Afghanistan or an Indian American Muslim comedian taking Netflix by storm, we champion and spread stories of positivity that speaks to Muslims in a meaningful way. We strive to connect deeply with our audience, and give them stories and entertainment worth sharing with their friends, family, and the people who matter in their lives because together - when unified - we can transform the public image and narrative of what it means to be a Muslim to be a more positive one. Our mission is bold and ambitious, just like the millennials shaping our world, and we are excited about the impact we’ll have together.
