For issue #70 and to mark the 70th anniversary of the literary James Bond, we spoke to a lot of the continuation authors about Ian Fleming's creation and keeping the legacy alive for today's readers. We also spoke to Johanna Harwood, the original screenwriter of Dr. No, and put together a production diary for Oc*****sy to celebrate its 40th birthday. Now shipping around the world!

Issue #57 is now shipping around the world! Subscribers should have already received this in the mail. Our cover art for this issue was wonderfully constructed by the super-talented Sean Longmore.

The 1980s provided fans five 007 adventures and two different James Bond’s - tied as the most productive decade with the 1960s.
Starting with the crossbow-wielding Melina set out on a mission of revenge, and ending with Pam’s strong-willed CIA pilot, the female characters of the 1980s were far from the gun-arm hanging damsels in distress the series had been criticized for in earlier decades. With shifts in pop culture and societal norms, casting the women for this era took on new dimensions and would also see the peak and the end of the ‘poolside girls’ publicity trope.

The world has changed dramatically since the time our last issue of 2019 was released and today when we are launching the 2020 season. Looking back on our expectations for the coming year we couldn't have predicted how the first few months of 2020 would transpire.

We have seen the unprecedented delay of many anticipated box office tentpoles, with No Time To Die leading the way, and studios slowly coming to the realisation that distribution methods will have to change, along with the very nature of work and entertainment.

The small team that writes, curates, publishes, and distributes MI6 Confidential magazine has certainly had quite an adjustment to the ways we work, as have our suppliers. As a result, we are today launching our first issue of the year about six weeks later than planned, and with a different - but we trust equally engaging and enjoyable - slate of articles. As you can imagine, with the change of release date to No Time To Die, we had to juggle our planned content quite a bit.

We have heard from a number of you concerned about our situation and we appreciate your care and patience. Rest assured we are still on track to deliver a full suite of five standard magazines and a 100-page special throughout the rest of 2020.
