Devastated to share that the Acumen Pakistan fellowship journey I began this year will no longer continue. The government has shut Acumen, an INGO, down in Pakistan. Me and 18 other fellows are heartbroken.

Each year, Acumen brings together 20 odd Pakistanis working for social change from across the country for 5 seminars. The fellowship is one of the most unique, transformational leadership programmes that exists in Pakistan. But we are told it’s over.

Two seminars in, I have made some of the most beautiful friendships with (once) strangers who do amazing things in their respective Pakistani cities. If you’re an Acumen fellow, you’ll know what I’m talking about: the community, the bond is indescribable.

New "Tareeqa-E-Waardaat" of drivers.

They will hit the "Arrived" button just after 2-3 mins of booking and cancel the ride after completing the 10 mins of wait time

That's how they've successfully cancelled an "unwanted" ride and user has to pay for the cancellation. This is how the customer has to suffer;
-Had to pay for the ride cancellation they didn't commit.
-Wasted time.
-Company can't do a thing about it because they see what the drivers WANTED them to see.

The Sindh High Court has reduced the death sentences of Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur to life imprisonments in the murder case.

Two others accused in the case, Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari, have been sentenced to life in jail.

In 2013, Shahzeb Khan's parents had decided to pardon the culprits responsible for the murder of their son.

Life is unpredictable and we never know what comes next, so we better make our and sisters strong enough to stand tall and firm in any phase of life and the they’re a part of.

If we teach our daughters the skills to earn, there won’t be much disappointment when any unwanted circumstances occur. For they would be ready to join hands not only to take care of the kitchen but also to run the kitchen.

I am an overseas Pakistani who moved to Canada for the sake of my children. When my Pakistani passport expired, I applied for a new one online. Through a personal contact, I completed the application with help from the National Database and Registration Authority, in particular the biometrics.

The online application was accepted by the Office of Directorate General, Immigration and Passport, Ministry of Interior, Islamabad, on or about Nov 22, 2017. I was also given a tracking number, transaction ID.

However, I did not hear anything from the director general’s office until the middle of February in 2018.

A technical officer from immigration replied and said that the MRP of the online section had emailed me to send a scanned copy of my expired passport in order to complete the process. I never received the said email.

The scanned copies I sent via email were apparently not acceptable. On my quarry, on March 6, 2018, I was advised to send another set of scanned copies as an attachment in an email, since the one I had sent before were not readable. I complied.

Then there was silence.

I later lodged two complaints with the department concerned but have received no response.

I also lodged a complaint with the Pakistan Citizens’ Portal. Later, I learnt that my complaint had been resolved.

I was quite surprised because it had not. I was informed that I had been asked to send biometrics and had failed to do so. This is rubbish as no one wrote to me or tried to contact me in any way.

It has been more than two years and I am still waiting to renew my passport.

Team Opinion doesn’t necessarily agreed with the tweet. But Pakistanis were appreciating the efforts of New Zealand’s PM, right after a horrific Terrorist attack. But now as Hazara Community continues to sit-in for third day in Quetta. Prime Minister Imran Khan hasn’t paid his visit.

While on of his tweets posted in 2017 suggests that a Prime Minister should visit the victims.

Let’s all request OUR Prime Minister to pay his visit to our brothers and Sisters in Quetta. Make them realise that they’re PAKISTAN. They’re one of US and these terrorists can never break our UNITY.
