Black Girls in Schools Panel Discussion

With the start of school upon us, we discuss two films illuminating the lived experiences of Black girls in Portland, OR's predominately white schools. The narrative short film "Another Day" is directed by Sommer Martin and stars Bobbi MacKenzie. The documentary "Black Girl in Suburbia" is directed by Melissa Lowery. All creators and subjects of the films will be present at the panel.

More congrats are in order! Director Sommer Martin has been selected by Oregon Media Lab for the Oregon Filmmaker Series. Her film “Another Day” will be screening online in the series this month through the Hollywood Theatre. We are honored to announce our film “In Time” has been officially selected to screen in the Portland Film Festival!
We have two showings:
Thursday, October 17th at 1:00pm at the Xfinity Theater
Friday, October 18th at 9:05pm at the Koerner Camera Theater
Come show your support and catch one of our screenings! GPP producers and some other collaborators on the film will be present at the screening so make sure to say Hi!

We are excited to announce that our film “In Time” has been selected to be a part of The East Village Q***r Film Festival. The festival will be running from August 19th to 24th in New York City. More details about screenings to come!

One week ago we had the opportunity to work on set with star Bobbi MacKenzie, Director/Writer Sommer Martin, and an amazing crew on our short film “Another Day”. The film is based around what it is like to grow up as a Black girl in a white-dominated space. Thank you to our Indiegogo backers and the Regional Arts and Culture Council for funding and making this shoot possible! Also, thank you to everyone who is working with us and staying updated on our project!

WE DID IT! We have officially secured the funding necessary to produce our newest film "Another Day!" This film will be at a production quality never before seen and Golden Pride Productions thanks to the amazing supporters who have joined us in the last couple of months. We could not be more excited about what is possible with this kind of backing!

We are proud to announce that we've been awarded a Project Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council! This significant funding boost will allow us to bring our production to a top-notch level. Thank you so much to RACC for believing in and supporting our vision!

Thank you so so much to everyone who shared and contributed to our crowdfunding campaign! We raised $2090 dollars through Indiegogo that will be essential to ensuring our production runs smoothly.
