What is it? Instead of confining ourselves to a specific type of music, we are out to cater for all genres of music, with the intention of providing a stage for all who wish to share their material to larger audiences. The core of the society involves recording low-cost demos for university bands, actively promoting bands/artists and releases as well as booking for gigs all over Coventry and Leamington Spa. All bands and artists of any genre who wish to join are very welcome! Essentially, you would be at the centre of the developing music scene, what with recording tracks, gigging which we’ll organise ( as well as the shameless plugging, don’t worry about that). I’m a sound technician…
Fancy the more technical side? Sound techies are an important element of the society, ensuring that our bands get the best possible product to offer on websites and at gigs. Current plans include acquiring a room on campus to set up a mini, DIY studio for recording. I’m more into the shameless plugging stuff…
Promoting bands and upcoming concerts is an equally key aspect of the society, making sure the bands get the audience they deserve, as well as being the public face of the society. Plans include setting up a street team to terrorise everyone into coming to our gigs. With what will hopefully be a range of genres on offer, it’s very likely students will find something they’ll like. We’re basically a promotions label for all genres of music, offering recording demos at a very reasonable price (seriously), promoting said music + band and organising gigs all over the place.
