If you tuned in to Zamrock a few weeks ago, you might have caught a few tracks from this record. Buena Vista Social Club received international acclaim for the 1996 eponymous release, and is listed at #260 for Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Ry Cooder was later prosecuted and fined for his work as a producer on the record, having broken the Trading with the Enemy Act, a clause of the still-ongoing US embargo against Cuba.

Their music can still be heard throughout the island of Cuba.
