With Alejandro Miranda Cruz and Upper House

When photographers capture the image of a face, or painters study their subjects, or filmmakers weave a narrative, they reveal the personhood of others and become storytellers in the process. Their work can be powerfully compelling, unveiling human attributes, emotions, and stories that are as deep as they are subtle.

On Saturday, April 30, Upper House will welcome art historian Wayne Roosa, portrait painter Catherine Prescott, filmmaker Alex Miranda Cruz, and photographer Asher Imtiaz for a morning of rich conversation on their evocative work, ideas, convictions, and driving questions.

Collectively, we will consider what might happen within and among us if we dare to “let the art speak,” as we explore the possibilities for art to be spiritually, communally, and culturally transformative.

If there's one thing we need in every industry and sphere, it's kindness! What a pleasure to chat with Nicole J Phillips/The Kindness Podcast last month about how to bring kindness and dignity to filmmaking. Thanks for the opportunity to share ☺️
