Super excited to share as JMC alumni at Sabah Institute of Arts last Friday! Never thought I would be talking about my life and study experience as an audio engineering student at JMC Melbourne. Thank you for listening, I'm truly honored.

Happy 2nd Anniversary! I wrote this article 2 years ago and it changed my life!

My first writing about my cancer journey on YMI and since then, people across the world has reached out to ask about NPC cancer or tell me how encouraged they were!

Honestly apa gunanya if I keep all the cancer info to myself when I can help others by sharing my experience? I am a living proof that even Stage 4 NPC Cancer patient like me can GET WELL!

I was 34 when I was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer behind the nose. But what hit me like a ton of bricks that day was the news that followed: my cancer had already advanced to stage 4A.

One thing I've learned about having a podcast is that it's not about the likes or shares or reactions (although it's better for the algorithm). It's about consistency, quality, and what my heart is saying.

What people can learn from the stories we tell and be human, and have compassion with one another. The joy of seeing young people achieving things I'd never thought of doing is a 'wow' moment for me and I'm inspired to pursue my passion like so many others. No, I don't mean to get jealous or upset over people's success, but be happy and encouraging to them, forgive the wrongs of others and count your blessings.

I'm not here to impress people but I won't go away either. If I can make something meaningful today, I pray I'll do it for the glory of God. May you never give up on whatever your calling in life is. Stay sane with Jesus. God bless!

They were laughing at my lame jokes. ;D Just to remember this day a year ago, I hosted a youth dialogue between our former Sabah chief minister, former youth minister, and former international trade minister. It was a blast but also nerve-wracking 'coz I haven't spoken in public for a while. The whole event happened so fast, almost a blur to me. But so glad that my husband was supporting me all the way!

It's the first time I've ever talked about being a in public. When words came out of my mouth, I could feel all eyes on me. Feeling puzzled or even sorry for me, trying to figure out how could a normal person like me have cancer? And those who knew me as a former radio host couldn't quite point out what changed for me. I look different, like a new person.

Truth is, no one could recognize me from afar. But I'm glad I look and am healthier now. I can't explain it either except pointing it to the Great Almighty God who saved me from the most horrible disease ever. Again, I thank the Lord that I am alive because of His Grace.

1 Corinthians 13:1 - "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth."

Gar and I talked about the verses that we love the most. I know it is difficult to love because I know what hate feels like. But God loves us. He gives us hope and joy. His words say "Perfect love drives out fear".

People always say: "You're so strong, Rica." because I overcame cancer, but the truth is I was feeling timid and weak most of the time. I cried so much when I had cancer and asked Jesus to hold my hand. And He did. I thank God for loving me, giving me, my husband and loved ones to care and pray for me. I am so thankful to be alive today.
